Music composition and orchestration activities:

I have been performing the duties of composer and arranger of the Balázs Elemér Group's musical productions since 2000. Over the past 22 years, the band has released 11 albums.

In 2004, I was responsible for composing and arranging the music for the film Getno.

In 2005, I arranged Szalóki Ági's album "Listener".

In 2005, I arranged László Dés's highly successful album Contemporary Gregorian.

In 2005, I also appeared in the light music genre, arranging Caramel's album "Nyugalomterápia".

In 2007, I released an album with my own band, the Balázs József Quintet | Don't Got You Mean, which features my own compositions.

In 2010, I founded the East Gipsy Band, a successful ethno-jazz band that mixes Roma music collected from all over the world with jazz. Our first album, Ageless Message, was released in 2011, and our second album, Bridge Of Cultures, was released in 2018. The albums feature world-famous saxophonist Tim Ries, with whom we have performed at many major jazz clubs, including one of the oldest American jazz clubs, the Deer Head Inn in Pennsylvania, the Blue Note, Jazz Standard and Smalls jazz clubs in New York, the Regatta Bar in Boston, the Hugh's Room in Toronto, and the world-famous Detroit Jazz Festival. HBO filmed a film about the band and my creative work, titled Starlight Distance.

Since 2015, I have been arranging the albums of Andrea Szulák's Quintet.
