Robin - Yarm£55
Trusted teacher: I am possibly the most highly qualified, experienced teacher that you will find (30 years experience). I teach Ph.D., postgraduate university students right down to beginners. Please note that all lessons are online so you can relax in the comfort of your own home. Many of my pupils become professional musicians. I have taught at Conservatoire (Royal Northern College of Music) and have been an examiner for the Royal College of Organists diplomas (I am an academy teacher for the RCO). I have had pupils as young as 15 gain diplomas. I am classically trained with the highest level music qualification (a Ph.D.) and have topped the jazz piano charts too (no. 1 in the UK, no. 33 globally) and so even improvisation can be a topic to study. I also teach singing in all styles classical, pop, and musical theatre with pupils taking exams right through to diploma. I teach lessons on Zoom that are enjoyable and thorough. I am also an expert in the aural (listening) aspect of examinations with some of my research being published by Routledge currently (I am a Kodaly influenced practitioner and able to teach using solfege to a high level). I teach high-level paperwork for those taking diplomas and degrees too. My lessons are engaging and cover a wide range of tasks to ensure fun with a deep understanding. My theory lessons teach through playing so they are much more enjoyable and you learn to understand through what you are doing. Please note that all of my international lessons are online. I am based in the UK but teach across the globe.

Trusted teacher: I teach beginning and advanced aspiring pianists of all ages (3+) with a focus on immersing students in the magical world of music and getting the best possible quality out of them by challenging to achieve more than assumed possible. Music is a soul-enriching experience and developing musical skills can be a great gift for a lifetime. With solo piano performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Universität der Künste (Berlin) I am a highly qualified award-winning concert pianist with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education. My musical learning was also furthered by postgraduate musicological studies at Royal Holloway and serious interests in philosophy, religions, history, civilization, literature, poetry, law, languages as well as many other things. I loved my musical journey which included not only piano but also composition, the violin, recorder, flute, harpsichord and clavichord from childhood onwards. In the last two decades, teaching has been giving meaning to my life and I enjoy helping others to find fulfillment as well as joy in their learning. My teaching approach is comprehensive, builds up confidence and incorporates a multidisciplinary orientation thanks to which students get promptly enthused over their learning. There is a focus on enhancing musical understanding, developing or improving reading skills, building up technique, expanding repertoire in a healthy way and foundationally preventing or sorting out injuries as well as pain-related problems. Although my teaching style is primarily quality-oriented with regards to skills, I believe that happiness, confidence, results and a sane sense of achievement are important components to balance in holistic education and offer a non-judgemental, patient, kind, equality-oriented, multicultural environment in which learning can thrive. I encourage students to perform in concerts, festivals, exams and competitions. Many have won prizes in numerous competitions and passed exams with distinctions. Others have improved their technical skills as well as understanding of music, thus opening more doors and finding professional opportunities in the world of music.

In 2016 I began giving private lessons and built up a group of over 20 pupils ranging from 5-year-olds to adults through positive word-of-mouth. Between April-July 2017, I was contacted by a local primary school to give small group lessons in Piano and Guitar. Alongside my studies in Amsterdam, I continued to teach a similarly wide age range of pupils. Since 2019 I have taught Composition & Musicianship at the Saffron Walden Centre for Young Musicians. Trusted teacher: My name is Lyle, and I teach Trumpet, Piano, and also more general composition and music production. I specialise in contemporary styles (anything from the last 100 years), and have found many of my students typically are: - Young children, who's parents are looking for a teacher who is more interested in flexibility and helping the child become inspired and self-motivated, rather than crushed by overly academic and strict teaching. - Adults who feel like their childhood instrumental learning has left them with large gaps in their knowledge and ability, particularly when it comes to improvisation and playing music without sheet music. - Learners who are interested in developing their musicianship, and curious about, but also a bit scared by JAZZ. - Learners who are interested in recording music, and want advice on both music and professional goals and the industry. I am happy to teach grades, but have a strong teaching philosophy that focuses around more specifically tailored learning paths that focus on giving the student the tools needed to become self-sufficient playing and creating music, whether it be to relax at home, play with others, or write songs. If this sounds good, please don't hesistate to get in touch and we can discuss further! About me: I am currently completing my Level 4 Music Educator certificate from Trinity College, and have been fully teaching professionally for just over two years, since finishing my studies. As a trumpeter, I have played on European tours with various bands, played on great stages such as The Royal Festival Hall, Bath Forum, and at Glastonbury Festival. I also have my own band, LYLE!, in which I sing, play keyboards, play trumpet, and write and produce all of the music, as well as playing and performing with many different bands across the UK.

Trusted teacher: I am an active musician based in Bristol where I give piano and music theory lessons. I am a positive person, always open to new experiences, with a friendly, extrovert character who is highly organized, reliable and patient. I have a great deal of experience in teaching music to both adults and children, individually and in groups. Due to the variety of ages, levels and goals I teach, I use different methods for each particular group of students: Students: With intermediate and advanced students I focus more on the mental approach of learning piano. We strongly establish goals and approaches from the start, and I also help with improving technique, music interpretation, awareness of play and music theory. I work more on the psychology of your play to prepare you for meeting greater demands. Through doing so, you learn how to stay passionate about the piano and are ready for every challenge that the future beholds. Adults: I strongly believe everyone should experience both classical music, restrained by rules and patterns, and the creative freedom of music - endless and never fully explored. Once we’ve gone through this process, together we set a course for what you like the most and want to explore further in your piano journey. My method here is based on deep exploration and making sure students experience and become aware of all music prospects. I help you to set the direction you would like to go and start preparing you for this journey. Outside of these categories I can assist in reestablishing a previous knowledge and love of piano, if you’re out of practice or your skills need polishing, I’m happy to assist a reintroduction and a revival of your passion. I focus on helping people find their confidence, passion, and joy from play. My method of teaching is based on using creativity and a unique approach to every single person. No matter your goal - if you’re looking to master a song or develop the level of your play, I am here to help you with finding your own way of improving and gaining your skills. All resources and music worksheets are prepared and provided by me for each individual student at each lesson. With younger students I often use small percussion instruments, already in my possession but this can be established within the first lesson, depending on your requirements. If the student is committed to practice independently I have a knowledge of suitable guide books to purchase.
