Hannah - Harrow on the Hill£46
Trusted teacher: I have studied English Literature and Music, and have played the piano for 14 years. I previously taught pupils to prepare for the ABRSM piano examinations, and have a 100% pass rate. Playing the piano is an expressive and engaging skill to learn. More than anything, the pupil learning should enjoy them self, and find a sense of fulfilment from playing. If you’re looking for exam preparation, just for fun, or anything else in between I would be more than happy to tailor a course to your needs. I also have experience with teaching music to early childhood students. Do get in contact if I sound like a good fit for you.
I offer piano lessons for all levels. 5 years of teaching experience in conservatories, music schools and in business. I have a very good contact with children. I am demanding but gentle and very patient. I believe that one learns by listening, I am present to allow this listening to be at the center of the course and thus accompany the student on the path of music. I adapt to the need, the desire and the receptivity of each one. The well-being of the student is essential for progress in confidence and joy. The development of listening to the inner song is at the heart of my teaching. For beginners: songs, games, improvisation, creation. The links with song and rhythm are very important to have a healthy foundation. The musical notions are approached gradually by experience then by recognition. Reading and writing are brought about by creation and musical composition. For the more experienced, polyphony and difficult passages can be approached with different tools, by awareness of harmony and melodic modes and polyrhythm. Sometimes it is enough to be aware of simplicity to overcome difficult passages. I push to go further in the quality of the interpretation with simple means to better understand the music and thus allow more expressiveness and freedom. I also offer improvisation, harmony, lessons in musical ensembles, especially vocal polyphony for children, and lessons for specific needs, for example just intonation for singers or other instruments.

Hello there, I am Jools, London based session musician and music tutor. I have classical training on piano, having studied for 11 years. My classes are generally for beginners and whoever wants to step into learning piano. I do as well one to one tuitions where I am focusing more on right and left hand technique, sight reading, harmony. Trusted teacher: I am a vastly experienced violinist and composer with a Masters Degree from the prestigious Lucerne Hochschule - Musik in Switzerland and Postgraduate Degree from Trinity Laban in London. I'm a very dedicated teacher, who loves to work with students from all age groups and levels of experience - one of the joys of teaching for me has been to help others find their own potential through consistent work. I structure the class around three different aspects: * addressing technical issues - intonation, bow technique and sound quality, posture * music making - learning about the style of each composer/of each piece, developing repertoire * interpretation - understanding harmony, finding an emotional connection with each of the pieces As part of the weekly-lessons, I provide you with exercises and tools to be able to follow-up on the above. We will work together towards reaching your goals and potential, whilst maintaining a balance between the joy of music-making and achieving a high quality.
