I am a vastly experienced violinist and composer with a Masters Degree from the prestigious Lucerne Hochschule - Musik in Switzerland and Postgraduate Degree from Trinity Laban in London. I'm a very dedicated teacher, who loves to work with students from all age groups and levels of experience - one of the joys of teaching for me has been to help others find their own potential through consistent work.

I structure the class around three different aspects:
* addressing technical issues - intonation, bow technique and sound quality, posture
* music making - learning about the style of each composer/of each piece, developing repertoire
* interpretation - understanding harmony, finding an emotional connection with each of the pieces
As part of the weekly-lessons, I provide you with exercises and tools to be able to follow-up on the above. We will work together towards reaching your goals and potential, whilst maintaining a balance between the joy of music-making and achieving a high quality.

About Me

Professional violinist with over 12 years experience teaching and performing in the UK and Switzerland, I prepare students for ABRSM exams, Conservatoire entrance exams, as well as supporting students of all ages in simply learning music and the violin as a hobby.

I have experience as a soloist playing with orchestras, chamber music-groups and folk-bands across Europe and Asia. Having performed in major festivals and concert halls for the last 15 years, I know the various challenges that one goes through when learning an instrument and I can help you navigate this in whatever phase of learning you may be in. I have lived, taught and performed all across Europe and in India and speak four different languages - this has given me a broad understanding of the cultural nuances and artistic styles in each of these regions which I bring to my teachings.

For beginners: songs, games, improvisation, creation. The links with song and rhythm are very important to have a healthy foundation. The musical notions are approached gradually by experience then by recognition. Reading and writing are brought about by creation and musical composition.

For the more experienced, polyphony and difficult passages can be approached with different tools, by awareness of harmony and melodic modes and polyrhythm. Sometimes it is enough to be aware of simplicity to overcome difficult passages.

I push to go further in the quality of the interpretation with simple means to better understand the music and thus allow more expressiveness and freedom.

I also offer improvisation, harmony,

When I begin teaching an individual, I make sure that I inspire them and teach them the value and beauty of music. I am very thorough about teaching technique properly so that it will last and be an asset in one's musical future, but I still like to keep my students on their toes and excited about actually making music and adding life to the notes they draw out of their instruments. Playing the violin not only helps both children and adults to broaden their musical taste, but it also improves brain function, builds physical coordination, and serves as a powerful emotional outlet.

This is why I think that everyone should at least at one point or another play the violin, because in my opinion, playing an instrument really improves ones' peace and even just playing for yourself will calm you down and will just make you sit and enjoy the music!

I teach everyone starting from the age of 4, from absolute beginners to advanced students, because I believe that music has no age limit and it is never too late to start learning something new!
