About Me

Je suis un batteur qui développe de plus en plus sa personnalité musicale. Je suis en recherche permanente d’interaction et d’évolution dans mon jeu. Le plus important est le facteur “créatif” et l’écoute. La sonorité et le toucher font aussi partie de mes investigations. Je joue essentiellement du Jazz de par ma formation mais je joue aussi bien du Rock, du Blues, du Funk et des rythmes Latins, Afro-cubains, des rythmes d’Afrique. Je travaille également aussi depuis plusieurs années le djembé ainsi que les percussions Afro-cubaines.

2006-2009 : Baccalauréat spécialisé en Batterie Jazz au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
2009-2012 : Master spécialisé en Batterie Jazz au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
2012-2013 : Agrégation de l’enseignement secondaire supérieur au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
2018 : Reconnaissance de l’expérience utile : professeur de pratique des rythmes musicaux du monde.

I've been a drummer for almost 20 years now, and I've graduated from both Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music (classical percussion) and Mons Royal Conservatory of Music (pedagogy). I've been teaching percussion, the drums and music theory for a little more than 4 years now.

My students are always the real actors of my courses. No matter what instrument you are learning, be it percussion, the drums, marimba, vibraphone, or music theory, I always pay close attention to your personal goals, and together we devise a unique learning plan that adapts to your strengths as well as your weaknesses.
My courses are aimed at anyone who is willing to put effort into learning music; children or adults, complete beginners or more advanced players who wish to receive additional feedback and insight.

Autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening skills are the true pillars of my methodology. We pay as much attention to technique as to musicality or listening skills.
Additionally, I provide tailored exercises, on-demand sheet music and transcriptions according to your needs, as well as additional resources and recommendations on my website to nourish your musical life and journey.

I teach the following:
-the drums, in various styles (rock, funk, jazz, shuffle, pop, world music, latin music, on-demand songs) and forms (Moeller technique, speed, rudiments, syncopation, breaks, solo, independence, musicality, double pedal, push-pull, etc.);

-percussion (2 or 4-mallet marimba and vibraphone, xylophone, timpani, cajón, hand percussion), in both contemporary and classical music styles;

-music theory, which can and will easily be integrated into my drumming or percussion courses, or can be taught as a separate course for music students who are seeking remedial education;

-harmony;

-sight reading techniques;

-perfect and relative pitch (experimental)

Having had the chance to learn from the greatest musicians in Belgium (Herman Pardon, Michael Degreef, drummer for Naomi Wolves, Stijn Tondelair, bassist for Niels Destadsbader, and Thomas Jillings, professor of harmony at the Antwerp Conservatory), I was able to acquire a lot of experience and practice.

Also a session musician, I have to show a lot of discipline in practicing my instrument. So know that giving lessons allows me to evolve further.

My way of teaching is simple; mixing theory and practice without drowning the course in too much theory.
My goal is to arouse in you this curiosity to apply theory to practice.

I mainly teach experienced drummers but also young beginners.

In five years of practice, I have been able to see the constant evolution of each of my students.
