I truly think learning Spanish has to be enjoyable and challenging (positively) and my aim is to create a fun and positive learning environment in which you can really thrive, feel confident and tranquilo.

I like to approach my students to grammar structures and cultural comprehension of the language by a variety of methods and sources such as images, videos, interviews, audios, etc. and adjust exercises of reading, listening and conversation to topics related to their particular interests and personal motivations.

May and June 2026: In this course, you will learn a range of linguistic methods and learn the terms used for describing a specific aspect of language or phenomenon (lexis, morphemes, and 'telegraphic stage' to give a few examples). The course requires you to explore your own data using quantitative and qualitative analysis (eg: how frequently are slang phrases used? Are there new auxiliaries being created?). No historical linguistics or literature is involved, but language change or specific traits will be sampled via your own data collection (if this is what is demanded in your course).

As many students need to present a "year abroad" dissertation at University level (3rd year in the UK of a Modern Languages or Linguistics Undergraduate course) I can help you to research and structure your year abroad work, both in English (Linguistics) and Romance languages (French, Italian, Spanish). The topics that have arisen from recent discussions with students relate to French Caribbean writing, Italian resistance and reprisals in Rome (Fosse Ardiatine), and Spanish Etica franquista in films (among others).

I have supported dissertation and thesis students from 2005, as well as granting informal help while I was a postgraduate student of Linguistics at UCL (this includes Institute of Education, 2000-2005). In essence, I can offer help because I have gone through this requirement myself (Aix-en-Provence for French BA, Berlin for Linguistics). Former students have requested this support for: Italian, French, Spanish and Linguistics & Phonetics.

Outcomes: BA MFL students have progressed to an MA after their final year of study, or attained Firsts at Cambridge (and proceeded to a career in the City).

As summers are now a challenge, and the dissertations need to be in by September (at least in England) I can help you with both your writing, research and oral exam. The year abroad really comes to an end in August, the worst time to be thinking about writing and research. I cannot change the weather but can make your path to a good degree smoother.

Hola, me llamo Francesca. Hello everyone! My name is Francesca. I offer tuition to help students prepare for Spanish exams at secondary school and university level, as well as private lessons and corporate training (invoices provided).

For some years I have been living and working in Spain, in Barcelona. I'm Italian. I studied Spanish starting from level A1 up to level C2, certified by the most prestigious organisation in the study and teaching of the Spanish language, the Instituto Cervantes.

I have been teaching Spanish classes online since 2018.

My lessons can be in Spanish only, from day one, if the student wants. I can use other languages to clear up particularly complicated doubts. My students value this aspect positively because they can improve quickly. Since I have studied Spanish from scratch to mastering the highest level of the language, I do not only understand the doubts my students might have, but I have experienced similar situations to theirs. For this reason, I can easily understand and solve the problems you may have while learning Spanish.

I offer Spanish lessons for beginners, with a clear and structured approach designed to build confidence and real understanding.

I studied Spanish up to C1 level at university and taught Spanish to GCSE students for several years.

My lessons focus on:
- clear explanations and logical progression
- speaking practice from an early stage
- grammar made simple and practical
- building confidence, not just memorising rules

Whether you are learning Spanish for travel, work, or personal interest, lessons are adapted to your pace and goals.

I create a supportive environment where mistakes are part of the learning process and progress feels achievable.

Through my experience as a secondary school teacher, I have come to realise that the acquirement of a language goes
beyond just having another skill.

Languages give students an opportunity to understand another culture and build respect and awareness as an individual. Equally, being an individual who enjoys immersing themselves in other cultures, I believe it is extremely beneficial to make use of out of classroom learning experiences, especially in language learning.

I look at creating engaging and interactive lessons in which students are consistently exposed to the spoken language to promote their confidence and create a safe environment in which they can explore the language without fear. On the other hand, as an individual who grew up bilingual, I feel that the inclusion of students whom English is not their first language is extremely important.

Spanish tutoring for up to GCSE level: I offer friendly, personalised Spanish lessons for children and teenagers working towards GCSE (or building a strong foundation before choosing it). Classes focus on the key skills needed for school success: understanding and using core grammar, building essential vocabulary, practising pronunciation, and developing confident speaking, listening, reading and writing. Sessions are carefully planned around each student’s school syllabus, exam board and current level, with plenty of practice on common GCSE topics such as family, school, hobbies, holidays and future plans. We use past papers, exam-style tasks and fun, interactive activities to boost grades and confidence. Lessons are one-to-one (or small group by arrangement), offered online or in person where possible, with flexible times after school and at weekends.
