Since July 2022 I have come to live in the Netherlands. I have ten years of experience as a teacher, and ran my own training institute. In those years we have successfully taught hundreds of children and adults English. From beginner level to professionals.

I take classes seriously and expect the same from my students. But learning is best done when it is also fun. So I use a lot of listening samples and games, and try to give you comfort in speaking the English language as quickly as possible.

Lessons can be given online, or live in the Culemborg area. Times are flexible.

About Me

I am an ambitious young mother of a daughter of 8 years old. We have recently moved to the Netherlands, to move in with my Dutch partner. I have always been eager to learn, and proven to work hard. Im self-learning, I can work independently, but also love to interact with colleagues. In my work I see I have the skills to teach. Im patient, persistent, and would love to make myself useful for students that love to develop themselves.

As a young student, I was selected for my skills and won several medals (Golden medal for best overall marks). After that I continued studying at the University, graduated International Relationships.

Hello parents! My name is Sandra. I am a native English speaker from New York State. I have a USA teaching license and a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Inclusive Education (Grades K-6 and Students with Disabilities) from the State University of New York at Fredonia. My experiences include teaching at primary international schools in Belgrade, Serbia for 2 years and 3 years at international schools in The Hague, Netherlands. I have worked at two IB primary schools. Alongside teaching at international schools, I have 8 years of experience teaching English. Lessons are provided to children and teenagers. Lessons are customized to the learning needs of your child. Whether that be learning English for the first time or practicing improvement of speaking, reading, comprehension, pronunciation, listening, writing, grammar, etc. Lessons can be aimed towards learning a topic such as food, animals, sports, emotions, and more.

For children who are fluent English speakers, tutoring can be given to further excel in particular areas. Subjects that interest the student such as science, history or world topics can be incorporated into the lesson to broaden their knowledge. Support can also be provided in learning organizational skills, research, and mini projects for older children. I am available to help with studying, homework, or school projects. For online learning, I use a variety of platforms, websites, educational games, and e-books to reach the learning goals of my students. Additional homework can be provided if requested.

Depending on the students age, lesson duration is adjusted. If you are looking for lessons for siblings, please reach out to me to discuss the best schedule for your children. My aim is to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for all my students.

I like using the CLT methond during my lessons. I have been teaching in a Gymnasium as an intern for the past 3 years and this method is the one that works best. I really like practicing the language in useful ways that the students can later on use in their daily lives.
I would provide the material for the lessons (no need for a book). I would create or print material when needed. I would also bring my laptop if something needs to be shown. It is handy for the student to have a notebook to keep track of all the work during the lessons.
