About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. My advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. My mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. My PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; my master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and my bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). My vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, I've provided consultancy services since 2011.

Writing on Global Issues - A critical approach to global matters
This course aims to help participants on three major points which hamper them from producing quality written products: lack of adequate and advanced vocabulary, advanced ideas, and advanced grammar. This course entwines these three points with global economical, political, and environmental issues which also aim to extend students’ general knowledge about global issues, just to name a few, ethics, technology, global supply chain, global warming, food security, business, etc. The basic philosophy behind this study is to help students advance their writing skills by introducing them to new ideas, concepts, advanced grammar structures, and advanced levels of vocabulary in a meaningful context. The course takes its roots in rhetoric, the art of persuasion. The participants are encouraged to approach the issues from broader, analytical and critical vantage points in order to write impressive pieces. Making a comprehensive analysis of the topics covered in this course is aimed primarily at the participants to reach a comprehensive and strong level of knowledge about the topics they will write about. The rationale behind the course is as follows: in order to write an advanced-level article, having advanced, in-depth, and multidimensional knowledge is imperative. For this reason, the intellectual knowledge of the participants is developed within the scope of this course.
