About Me

I am creative, playful and passionate about learning. I always want to learn new things myself and to support others to do the same in their personal and professional life. But most of all I love to find ways to offer to learn through playing! The more non-formal the learning method, the easier it is for the student to learn.

I like to teach languages to others in a creative way and to adjust my lessons according to their needs and skills. In this way, they learn the best. I find it a nice challenge to find the right learning "buttons". There is always a logic behind how people learn what they learn and why... I'd like to get to know what your learning skills are!

Experience / Qualifications

I have previous experience with offering Dutch and Greek lessons to clients and members of my organization. I have worked on this originally as a volunteer and later as a professional. But I have also done it very unofficially for friends and family when I was explaining the rules and basic concepts of one of the 3 offered languages. They always found it interesting to "learn through playing!"

Dutch is my mother tongue, I am Dutch and I suggest you improve your level of Dutch by focusing on conversation - pronunciation - learning to express yourself well - convincing shyness to speak. Of course also academic support - explanation of grammar - reading and understanding texts - writing and editing. Preparing for job interviews, raising the level of Dutch for professional use to a higher level, working with university students to prepare for their Dutch exams etc etc. I adapt my lessons to the needs of each student. With advanced students we discuss the news based on newspaper articles.
I speak fluent French, English, and Italian. I am a lawyer by training with 30 years of experience in international business. The ultimate goal of my lessons: to love Dutch and prepare for your future!

I tutor in various high school subjects, including mathematics, physics, and Dutch.

I studied linguistics myself, but in pre-university education I followed a Science & Technology profile, which means I also know everything about the subjects mathematics and physics as they are taught in secondary school.

At the moment, I only have time available on weekdays in the morning or early afternoon, for which I have lowered the rate.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Between the two lessons you can always ask me a question about the subject what we’ve discussed. If you have a subject what you’d like to learn about the Dutch language, let me know. I’m looking forward to see you in my class.

Teaching children is almost "an art" Not everyone is able to place him or herself in the mind of a child and that is just so important! I teach playfully and at the same time they learn without really realizing they are in a lesson! I do this with diverse lesson material such as pictures, video's, and we are also practicing songs together. Did I make you curious, come take a look and see if your child is liking my way of teaching! Greetings Carolina.

My name is Ron, a dedicated Dutch tutor based in Suriname. Originally trained as an HVAC engineer with the intention of continuing my father’s legacy, I transitioned into teaching during the pandemic after discovering my passion for language education. This shift allowed me to embrace remote work while connecting with learners globally. With a friendly and adaptable approach, I prioritize creating engaging, personalized lessons that foster confidence in conversational Dutch. Outside of teaching, I take pride in my family life as a happily married professional who finds fulfillment in helping others achieve their language goals.
