About Me
I have played violin since the age of 7 and studied music at Queen’s University Belfast, where I gained a PhD in Music History. I specialise in classical music but am open to teaching different styles, including Irish traditional music.
I have taught music in schools in the UK for over 10 years, mainly withe beginners at primary school level but also intermediate and advanced levels. My students regularly achieve distinctions in their ABRSM exams and some have gone on to study music at university.
I also have lots of conducting experience, working with amateur and youth orchestras.

I have 10 years’ violin teaching experience in the UK and have recently moved to Dresden. I specialise in teaching beginners age 7-12 both in groups and 1:1. I also have lots of experience teaching teenage students, some of whom have gone on to study music at university. Most of my students worked towards ABRSM graded exams, but the primary goal of my lessons is always to make sure the student has fun playing.
I have a PhD in Music and the ABRSM Teaching Diploma (DipABRSM).
