Learn English during the summer for school or work

From 22 £ /h

English classes are for all students who have just started to learn this language. English is a branch taught quickly and sometimes it is difficult to follow. It is a language also present everyday that is at work or on the radio.
I am bilingual in English because I have been living in Dublin for two years now. I can help students prepare tests, do homework or simply help with language learning.

My name is Noreen, I'm a second-year bachelor's student at HEC Lausanne, and I tutor elementary school students. I'm passionate about sharing the many learning techniques I've developed, and I would be delighted to use them to help students progress with confidence. Patient and calm by nature, I don't hesitate to rephrase or re-explain concepts several times so that each student can understand at their own pace. Lessons can be conducted in either French or English, depending on your needs. I look forward to meeting you and discussing your goals!

Good morning! Hello!

My name is Dan. I'm an American from the most beautiful city in the midwest: Chicago.

I have lived in Paris for the last seven years and am now in Lausanne. I am friendly, smiling, and I have a lot of patience.

I offer English lessons for all levels and all ages. I am ready to successfully complete these courses and support you in achieving your goal.

I give lessons of 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes or 2 hours. – Face-to-face or video courses.

I understand the difficulties of learning a new language and don't worry about making mistakes. I'm here to explain everything to you in a way that will help build your confidence in speaking English.

We will work on pronunciation, grammar, ease and fluency of oral expression. I like to include humor in my lessons and teach idioms.

You won't need to go to Chicago to learn English, since you have someone available from Chicago to Lausanne. (We say Chicagoan)

I also do coaching for professional interviews in English. To help you articulate and express yourself.

Let's do this!

As a Political Economy student at the University of Fribourg, with a high school diploma in Biology and Chemistry, I offer in-home tutoring tailored to each student's level. I help students with homework, test and exam preparation, and also provide supplementary lessons to address specific gaps in knowledge or reinforce learning.

Fluency, pronunciation and impeccable writing in English.
My tutoring services also extend to History, Mathematics, Economics and Law, and Biology and Chemistry.

Serious, punctual, motivated, and dedicated, I strive to motivate students, providing structure and study methods to help them become more independent. In math, I love finding solutions and strategies, and I can help with reading and understanding problems, which are often a source of difficulty for students who otherwise have great potential in mathematics.

I offer academic support and homework help in science subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.). I obtained my scientific Baccalaureate with highest honors in 2024 and I am in my second year of engineering at EPFL.

Before each lesson, I like to glance at the chapter or exercises to refresh my memory on certain theorems or formulas if necessary. This allows me to arrive prepared and explain the concepts clearly and in a structured way.

During the lesson, I guide your child step by step, taking the time to re-explain concepts, review the basics if necessary, and help them gain confidence. My goal is not just to solve the exercises, but above all to ensure they truly understand what they are doing and gradually become more independent.

I offer English lessons for children and teenagers, tailored to their age, level and goals.

My lessons are based on exercises, games, interactive activities, and above all, lots of practice. My goal is to make learning English enjoyable and to allow each student to progress at their own pace.

Who am I?
Hello, my name is Karina and I am 16 years old.

I am a patient, organized, and attentive person. I enjoy helping others understand things and explaining concepts in a simple and clear way.

I speak fluent French, English, Ukrainian and Russian, which also allows me to support students who are learning French or who need help to better understand instructions.

I offer homework help for children and teenagers, mainly for primary school and the beginning of secondary school.

During the sessions, we can review concepts that are causing problems, do exercises together, prepare for tests or simply organize schoolwork.

I do not do the homework for the student: I accompany him so that he understands, finds the method and can gradually work more independently.

I adapt to the level and pace of each student and I make sure to create a calm and caring atmosphere, in which they can ask all their questions without fear of making a mistake.

I want to become a teacher later on, so I take each session seriously. I tailor my support to each student's needs to make schoolwork clearer and more motivating.

Hope to meet you !

Mathematics, physics, English, and French can seem difficult without the right foundation or method. With extensive experience working with students of all ages, from young children to high school and university students, I have designed my lessons as a personalized support system, adapted to each student's level and pace.
You will solidify your foundational knowledge, fill in any gaps, better understand challenging concepts, and gain confidence and independence when tackling exercises and exams. My goal is to make each subject accessible by adapting to each student's learning style.

As a mathematics student at EPFL, after a scientific preparatory class (PCSI) at Lycée Henri-IV in Paris, I have been giving private math lessons since 2024.

For who ?
– Secondary I (CO) students who have dropped out or want to consolidate their foundations
– High school students, including the specific mathematics and physics option, and preparation for the baccalaureate
– First-year students (analysis, linear algebra) at EPFL, UNIL or HES
– Students in the French system (middle school, high school, baccalaureate)

How is a course going?
I start by identifying the real difficulty, because it often stems from a misunderstanding of a previous concept rather than the current chapter. I then explain it simply, and the student practices with exercises until they can do them independently. We can work on upcoming homework and tests, review entire chapters, or prepare intensively for an exam.

The goal: improved grades, but above all a student who regains confidence and becomes independent.

Courses are also available in English, for students from international schools.

Adapted to the courses and needs of the student, whether it is for catching up or getting ahead in the curriculum.
For English, a focus will be placed on expression and comprehension - both oral and written.
Regarding philosophy, I'm more open-minded – exploring philosophies, evaluating arguments, helping with courses, or even rhetoric.
