Coming from a trilingual family, I speak Spanish, Portuguese, and English fluently and hold a first-class BA in History with Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Leeds. After a decade-long career in law, I then changed profession to pursue my original love for languages. Having taught Spanish to secondary school students in London for three years and acted as a GCSE Portuguese speaking examiner within the school, I now focus on private tutoring full-time.

About Me
I am a hard-working qualified languages teacher who will always go the extra mile for my students' learning.
My love of languages and their associated cultures stems from my multilingual (English-Spanish-Portuguese) upbringing and I am passionate about the idea that everyone has the capacity to learn and enjoy a foreign language. As a tutor, my ultimate goal is to help you to do just that by creating an encouraging and safe space in which to practice and improve your language skills.
In terms of my background, I studied languages up to degree level, obtaining a first class BA in History with Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Leeds. After initially working as a solicitor for 10 years, I retrained as a modern foreign languages teacher in 2018 and taught Spanish for 3 years in a London secondary school. I then decided to focus on a full-time private tutoring career and have since gained experience in teaching a wide variety of different students.
My teaching style is informal and friendly, while always mindful of my students' specific learning needs. I plan my lessons with my students' aims, strengths and interests in mind to make them as engaging as possible, but I also ensure that we are covering the key material we need to from a learning perspective (be it particular exam specifications or general language-learning objectives). My lessons are interactive and collaborative and I love hearing my students express themselves with increasing confidence as our lessons progress.
