About Me

You'll find i'm a calm and patient person, I've tutored before for neighbors children and have always enjoyed it. I love sharing my languages and have a fascination with words and how they're used in differently from one language to the next. I'll do my best to create a relaxed environment, I like to incorporate a little humor in my lessons so that they become more of an interaction than a teacher/student dynamic as I believe you will get the best experience if it's one you enjoy.

I'm at the University of Edinburgh studying english literature, previously I lived in France where I passed the OIB (international option of the Baccalaureate) so I'm fluent in both english and french to a native level.

I have tutored siblings and neighbors and have traveled a fair amount to the point I'm well acquainted with language exchange type environments. Furthermore all of my previous education was in France so I'm well acquainted with the french educational system, how we learn and when we learn it.

I have been an examiner for AQA and am familiar with both AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A-level specifications, having taught the Edexcel spec before. I have tutored French to children (beginner to bilingual) and adults. The planning and delivery of my classes will be dependent on the individual needs of my students.

-If I teach French/Russian to a student/adult, the lesson may last up to an hour and a half. Methods vary, depending on the level of proficiency in the language. We talk about different topics of interest and develop speaking and writing skills in a way that is interesting to the student.
If interested, French/Russian literature is studied by authors such as Baudelaire/Tolstoy and Maupassant/Turgenev. We could also converse about French/Russian history, culture and the country's traditions.
