About Me

Hi! My name is Dasha, and I’ve been teaching Russian for almost my entire life! Even as a student in Saint Petersburg, I was helping candidates prepare for Russian exams, and since then, teaching has become a core part of who I am.
I teach both groups and private lessons, for adults and teenagers, online and in person. I speak several languages (Russian, English, French, German, and a bit of Dutch and Spanish), which helps me understand the student’s perspective.
I am a co-author of the textbook I Love Russian (A2–B1) and have created several beginner courses, including the Essential Russian mini-course and the Alphabet course. I also develop curricula and exams and prepare students for TORFL and TELC exams.
I’m passionate about language teaching methodology, multilingualism, intercultural communication, and innovative approaches to language learning. I’m always happy to collaborate with students, teachers, and institutions who share my passion for languages!

Education

I hold a Ph.D. in Pedagogy and Language Teaching Methodology (Russian as a Foreign Language), a Master’s in Cultural Linguistics (Master of Philological Education: Cultural Linguistics), and a Bachelor’s in Russian and English as Foreign Languages (Bachelor of Philological Education: English and Russian as Foreign Languages), all from The Russian State Pedagogical University, Saint Petersburg.

Experience / Qualifications

Since 2019, I have been teaching Russian at CLL Centres de Langues (European Institutions Department) and at IHECS Academy in Brussels. In 2018–2019, I worked at the Centre de Langues Marie Haps, Brussels. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2016, I taught Russian at the Intercultural Institute of Language in Saint Petersburg, where I also served as Assistant Director of Studies from 2014 to 2016.
From 2017 to 2019, I taught English to children at Kids&Us Language School in Brussels.
I am a certified TELC examiner.
