Hi All, thank you for checking out my course. This class is open to students of all levels. Whether you are only starting to learn the wild-looking letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, or whether you are looking to practise your written and spoken Russian, I would be delighted to accompany you at any stage of your Russian-learning journey. For more advanced students, I would be happy to help you get to know one of the most defining aspects of the Russian language, namely its novels and poetry, which would be a great way to learn about the 'mysterious' Russian soul. I believe that studying in three different countries have allowed me to try out and assess various approaches to education in general and teaching languages in particular - from the rigourous Russian system based on ensuring that the students will obtain exceptional spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation skills, to the more relaxed yet more critical and analytical Western approach, focused on problem-solving and independent work. You will get the benefit of a vast bank of techniques, methods and learning materials that I have developed and accumulated over the past year will be used in class to pique and maintain your interest. What does my Russian course look like? The structure of the course is well balanced. I include grammar and pronunciation techniques, also tips for better and quicker memorisation. I have developed my own course based on more than 10 years teaching experience, and I also supplement the lessons with published resources, videos and recorded conversations. My Russian course is based on high frequency vocabulary and grammatical structures. With the content that I developed, you can start using Russian words and phrases from the very first lesson. What makes my course unique is that you will be using Russian and hearing Russian throughout the whole course, and you won’t always have to translate Russian into English in order to learn new words and phrases. That’ll be possible because my course is based on the most up-to-date understanding of how we learn, how we memorise information and how we use language to communicate. I carefully selected teaching methodologies that will immerse you into the Russian sounds, words and grammar bits. In our sessions, we will be using body language, objects, pictures, videos, presentations, hands-on and digital interactive games to learn new material and most importantly to communicate, to get the message across in Russian. All lessons are very interactive: you will be saying Russian words, repeating after me, we will be role-playing short dialogues, and you will be building your grammar and vocabulary bank gradually. I’ll be giving a homework task after each session so that you can consolidate your learning. Completing each homework will be achievable as long as you schedule time in your calendar to do it. I will give you feedback on your homework every time. Some of my students started learning Russian with me from scratch and now can express themselves pretty well. It’s remarkable to see their progress and I want you to be confident Russian speakers too. I put a lot of emphasis on pronunciation, and you will be practising correct pronunciation from your very first lesson. It takes time to develop good habits, to develop the tongue muscle memory and to practise the right placement of the tongue in the mouth, but we will be practising in every lesson. Pronunciation techniques are embedded in each class, so along with vocabulary, grammar and communicative strategies, you will be learning pronunciation. How do I adapt content to your learning needs? I understand that your motivation to learn Russian will be different. Perhaps, you want to speak Russian with your friends or family members. Perhaps, you work with Russian speakers and would like to communicate with them in Russian. Perhaps, you are doing HSC or IB in Russian or another standardised test and need to get ready for it. You might be just in love with Russian art, literature and culture and learning the language is the way to gain a better understanding of the Russian traditions. Or you might already know several languages and you would like to learn Russian as well. If you are interested in Slavic languages in general, learning Russian could be a good way to get started, as Russian, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian and other Slavic languages share common characteristics. I will take into account your motivation to learn Russian and will adapt the lessons to suit your learning needs and future plans.

Hello Everyone, I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia and moved to the UK in 2018. At my classes I love coaching my students through talking to them about interesting topics and setting challenging tasks and ambitious goals for them. I really enjoy setting stretching targets for my students and helping them achieve their goals whether it is working abroad, moving to a Russian-speaking country or exams. The most important thing for me as a teacher is to see my students speak. When we do speaking exercises, I usually write my students’ mistakes down in order to discuss them later. This way of correcting mistakes makes my students more relaxed because they are not interrupted while they are speaking. Over the years I have developed and fine tuned my own 9 point plan to make our classes more effective. The 9 point plan includes: • Speaking the language you learn every lesson • Listening to engaging audio materials • Learning how practical grammar works and how locals use it • Expanding vocabulary every lesson • Learning correct sentence building • Reading fluently and confidently • Learning how to communicate the way that locals do • Learning to pronounce like the locals • Building confidence in all the above using discussions and role-plays

Russian may seem difficult at the first sight, but I will do my best to prove it is not so hard as it seems! The class is suitable for all people (kids, students, adults) who would like to study Russian for various reasons. I always create a personal program for every student in order to satisfy different levels of Russian and adapt towards specific needs. The focus is, of course, put on studying vocabulary, grammar and most importantly speaking. The student can already say some basics starting from the first class. As soon as some basics are learned, communication will be practiced in a creative ad customized way.
