I am a certified TEFL(Teaching english as a Foreign language) instructor and I currently take english classes in two language schools. Language learning in my opinion, does not have to be a tedious task. Through my teaching practices I have learnt to adapt creativity to teaching methodology. I am highly motivated to ensure that my students achieve the language goals they hope to achieve and am willing to assist them throughout this journey.

My classes are adapted to the student's level and needs; they focus on working with all the 4 skills while at the same time focusing on the ones that need more work.

About Me

I moved to Brussels a year ago to be with my family. I am from India and I graduated with a Masters in Development studies. I have always had a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge which is why I decided to formally pursue this passion by getting a diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign language.

I believe that any learning is most productive when the student is intrinsically motivated to learn. I like to identify this motivation, learn my students interests and goals and then design my classes accordingly.

I have extensive experience working within the Brussels bubble and specialise in helping students adapt to professional life here. I enjoy helping my students improve their business English fluency and understanding of idiomatic expressions to really take their English to the next level.

I have a British accent, however, I am familiar with the nuances of other accents and spelling differences. I have a lot of experience in helping newcomers to the British accent understand the subtle pronunciation differences that will make it far easier for you to understand.

Hi there! I'm Lynn, a languages and all culture-related enthusiast with a particularly keen interest in singing, storytelling and transdisciplinary art. Which in turn led me to be a freshly graduated Master-student in Performing Arts, with a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and Letters where I primarily studied English as well as Russian linguistics and literature, along with a Dutch minor.

These university years gave me the opportunity amongst others to learn more in-depth about the subjects I was most passionate about during my Art Humanities, i.e. performance studies, philosophy, art - and cultural history, as well as literary/critical analysis of various different artforms.

Brought up bilingual (French-Dutch) from earliest infancy, I very early came to realise the many possibilities and encounters this opened up, which encouraged me to continue down this path of language learning and intercultural communication. At first, I was incredibly fortunate to benefit from the work of a truly invested and passionate English teacher during the scope of my humanities and to acknowledge all of the difference that it makes when learning a foreign language. Subsequently, prior to my studies I got the chance to travel to Ireland for a year during which I mainly worked as an au pair. This not only took my English to the next level, but also sharpened my childcare skills and pedagogical abilities.

Now that I've completed my studies and am opening up a new chapter of my working-life, I'm very excited to put all of this baggage to work along with you!
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of play and sharing fun, artistic and/or meaningful activities which help put things into practice in order to learn a new language in a lively, profound and sustainable way.

Who the courses are for: anyone who wants to learn English from scratch or who wants to improve their level of English (up to B2). I am also happy to teach children.

The location: I would like the location not to be too far from the city, preferably in a library or a quiet place. I can also teach at home, but this will have to be discussed with my roommates.

Availability: I do not yet know the final hours of my internship, but in principle I will not be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From then on, I am available, especially on weekends.

The method: At the beginning, it is a good idea to do a test according to the level you want to achieve in order to determine which are the most important aspects to improve. Then the lessons will be organized according to the student's personal or professional interests, because I think it is more effective and more fun to learn a language when you combine learning with something you love. I will use my creativity to promote smooth and engaging learning.
