Hello prospective students! I am a university student at Manchester, before coming here I lived in Turin Italy for three years where I learned Italian and went on to obtain a level 7/7 in Italian B level in the International Baccalaureate. I have material (reading and exercise books) that I will share with my students at no extra costs. I am excited to teach new people looking for a B level Italian (especially if you’re enrolled in the International Baccalaureate), this class covers beginner and intermediate level of writing, reading and especially writing. About Me

Hi! My name is Santiago Illingworth, I’m a Politics, Philosophy and Economics student at the University of Manchester. I enjoy tutoring and helping people with subjects they struggle, I find helping someone overcome their obstacles in particular subjects (particularly IB History, Economics and Italian at an Intermediate level) to be very rewarding and fun. I took the IB and passed with 36 total points with very high 6s in History and Economics Higher Level and a 7 in Italian B level, these subjects really interest me and I enjoy helping other people excel in them.
I am also a mother tongue in Spanish and have fluently spoken mother-tongue level English since I was 13 years old and knowing the struggles of having to learn I modern tongue level of English, I’m more than willing to help people in any way I can to improve their English. I also enjoy helping those studying Spanish to improve their listening, speaking and comprehensive skills.

Education

I came out of the IB diploma with a 36 total grade and obtaining high grades in my History and Economics higher-level courses, along with my Italian B level course. This got me into the University of Manchester where I currently study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics

My teaching experience mostly comes from volunteering and extracurricular activities. While living in Turin Italy I taught debating skills within my school's Model United Nations club, as well as teaching sustainability and gardening to primary school kids.

I have studied Classical studies at high school- Latin and Ancient Greek- alongside with Italian literature, which helped me understand more deeply the origins of today’s language.

English and literacy is one of the most important, and fun, parts of Key Stage 2. The skills learned and practised in the classroom will follow children as they grow into young adults, not only helping them in school but also helping them in a world that is becoming ever more complicated and reliant on these vital literacy skills.
