I am a fully qualified primary school teacher based in Falkirk with over 15 years of experience particularly in the upper primary level. If your child needs additional input in English or Maths to help them reinforce their classroom learning or if they are looking to extend themselves to work at Third Level in preparation for High School or Entrance Exams, then I am here to help. After our initial ‘get to know you’ session, I will build a program of learning that will support your child in all identified areas, helping them to feel more confident with concepts or skills they have found tricky to master as well as challenge them to reach their full potential moving towards higher level learning. My goal is to create supportive and engaging session where students feel motivated to explore, make mistakes in a safe environment and ultimately, experience success, helping to boost their confidence in any classroom or examination setting. Mathematics is often seen as a problem area for many students and their ‘tricky’ subject. With every student that identifies this as an area for development, my focus is on building a strong foundation in maths reinforcing key concepts, using key problem-solving strategies as well as developing critical thinking skills. Through the use of real-world, tangible examples, I will help students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and how they can be applied in their own lives. This work will be followed up with targeted areas for further practice, consolidation and/or additional challenge. During my writing sessions, I will guide students in developing their practical writing skills, i.e. grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and organisation of points/plot. Whilst encouraging creativity throughout, I will ensure there are multiple opportunities for students to express themselves through various writing genres. We will also work on editing and reviewing with feedback sessions built in to help consolidate the techniques introduced. I strongly believe that reading is the key to unlocking a whole world of knowledge and imagination. In my reading sessions, I will focus on developing essential skills such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocab. Through a variety of activities, including reading aloud, guided reading, discussion and analysis, I will help students improve their reading abilities, expand their literary horizons, and hopefully, foster a lifelong love for books. Hi All, thank you for checking out my course. This class is open to students of all levels. Whether you are only starting to learn the wild-looking letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, or whether you are looking to practise your written and spoken Russian, I would be delighted to accompany you at any stage of your Russian-learning journey. For more advanced students, I would be happy to help you get to know one of the most defining aspects of the Russian language, namely its novels and poetry, which would be a great way to learn about the 'mysterious' Russian soul. I believe that studying in three different countries have allowed me to try out and assess various approaches to education in general and teaching languages in particular - from the rigourous Russian system based on ensuring that the students will obtain exceptional spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation skills, to the more relaxed yet more critical and analytical Western approach, focused on problem-solving and independent work. You will get the benefit of a vast bank of techniques, methods and learning materials that I have developed and accumulated over the past year will be used in class to pique and maintain your interest. And since I was once a language student too, I would be able to share my personal tips and tricks with you to help you reach whatever goal you have set for yourself - be it being able to wow your friends and family by reciting a poem in the language of Dostoyevski, or impressing your future collegues with the thorough knowledge of Russian current affairs in their mother tongue!

I am an experienced German teacher, who taught for the last 5 years online and 1 to 1 lessons for a language centre (Brighton) The lessons are individually tailored, we will work on all 4 skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Lessons will be tailored around your individual language needs. We work usually with a book from A1 - C1 and then with media (news articles and materials/videos from the internet). Lessons will be a mixture of reading texts and then answering questions or discussing the topic, listening exercises and free speaking. You also can read books (easy reader) or bring your own materials to the lessons. I teach grammar in context with texts, not independently. But students will develop in time a concept of the various elements in a sentence (pronoun, verb, preposition, adjective, noun, adverb etc) and get a clear picture of sentence structure (main and subordinate clauses and placement of verbs). Still, the main focus will be on conversation, students will immerse in the fascinating world of German words and expressions, doing role plays and practicing day to day situations. Developing not only their language skills but also their fantasy and improvisation skills.
