Hello, I'm Jia. I'm currently in my first year of pursuing a Master's degree in cello at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in China and have 5 years of teaching experience. Whether you are a complete beginner with no prior experience, someone who's interested in learning the cello just for the love of it, or if you aspire to use the cello for university admissions or competitions, I can help you.

If you are in Copenhagen, we can have in-person lessons. However, if you are in a different area, we'll need to schedule online lessons, and you should be prepared with some equipment for online learning, such as a phone stand or an iPad for better video quality.

I teach English varying the focus based on the student's needs. We can prepare for US college applications, or focus on essays for school.
I also tutor French for students who want to practice outside of school, or beginners.
In addition, I've studied classical voice and cello and teach both at the beginner level.

I am an English speaking academic, writer and editor who also plays piano and knows all about music. I have a great piano in my home in Østerbro. I can teach piano and all sorts of music theory. I also can teach singing and guitar, and how to listen to classical music.

An ex-professional musician with 25 years experience teaching hundreds of children guitar, I am also a qualified primary school teacher with a British degree and several years experience. Privately I have taught chldren from the ages of 7 upwards, and several adults. Two of the children I taught some years ago I'm still in touch with and they are now pursuing degrees and careers in music.

I am an expert at engaging children (and adults, when they have the time to practise!) in the guitar and making their learning fun so that they can start playing recognisable tunes quckly, and progress to advanced skill confidently. I encourage good technique fro the start so that the pupil doesn't have to 'unlearn' a skill and learn it properly in the future.

My approach also teaches musical theory (reading music) simultaneously, so that a pupil can change between instruments at a later date. I do NOT use guitar TAB, which is for guitar only, because it limits the child to the one instrument. My approach is also flexible, meaning that the pupil can gravitate towards whatever style they like with me.

I have finished my High school in the Purcell School in London, UK with joint first study composition and piano. I had my pieces premiered internationally such as in London, Birmingham, Rotterdam, Istanbul, Manchester and Copenhagen. I also studied piano as my first study from the ages 7 to 18 and participated in international festivals, Masterclasses and concerts in London, Birmingham, Amalfi, Ankara, Istanbul, Manchester and Glasgow. I have also participated in various workshops for music teaching to young kids and those with disabilities. I also have experience teaching for people in all ages and with disabilities.
