My name is Irene, I started my career as a cellist in the south of Spain, between Andalusia and Murcia, where I did my bachelor's degree in cello performance. Later I moved to Belgium to continue my studies, where I studied the Master in Classical Music (cello performance) at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent.
I have been teaching cello for 8 years both in Spanish and English to all ages and levels, combining my teaching activity with the interpretative improvement of my instrument.
I have collaborated with numerous national orchestras and I have received master classes from great cellists at an international level. In Belgium, I currently collaborate with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and the Chamber Orchestra of Flanders, among others.
I love teaching and I want to transmit my passion for music and for the cello to everyone who enters my class.

About Me

I have been taking cello lessons for 20 years, I have met wonderful teachers, great musicians and inspiring cellists who have kept my connection with my instrument (the cello) intact from the very beginning.
I would love to be able to explain to you in words the emotion that playing the cello, listening to music, understanding it and teaching it brings to me. But as someone said "Music goes where words cannot go".

Experience / Qualifications

8 years working in private music schools as a cello teacher.
I currently combine teaching with playing in symphony orchestras. I am a freelance musician in Belgium playing with different orchestras and ensembles and recently I have toured Europe with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders playing music by Ennio Morricone with his son Andrea Morricone as conductor in cities such as London, Dublin, Berlin, Frankfurt, Brussels , Paris, Geneva, Zurich...
