I have a degree in Spanish Philology and I also have a Master of Education. Now, I'm working in a high school near Glasgow as Spanish Language Assistant, so i'm getting very familiar with the secondary exams like Nat5, Highers or Advance Highers, and that could be very useful if you're searching a tutor especially for that.

I'm used to adapt my teaching methodology to each different pupil and we can work specifically only in the fields that the student finds the most difficult.

Having studied Latin now for eleven years, not only in school but also at the Universities of Glasgow and Cambridge, I am extremely familiar with the language and its challenges. Using the Wheelock Latin textbook, adapted texts, and even "real" Latin literature where appropriate, I envisage Latin teaching and tutoring that focusses on the necessary aspects of grammar and rote language learning but supplements them with knowledge of Ancient Roman culture, history, and literature to make the language more alive and relevant. I am well-acquainted not only with the requirements of Latin learning at school, particularly for GCSEs, but also with the expectations of university Latin courses. A beginner will come to understand the fundamentals of the language, common vocabulary, and the "philosophy" that underlies grammatical forms and syntactical structures, an intermediate learner will come to grasp the more nuanced and trickier aspects of Latin grammar and reading, and an advanced learner will find confidence in reading Latin texts "in the wild" and the fluidity of translation and interpretation.
