I am a highly experienced and enthusiastic university teacher, tutor, and researcher with over 20 years of academic experience in the biological and biomedical sciences. I am Emeritus Professor since 1st of October 2025. Y My career has involved lecturing, small-group teaching, laboratory instruction, and the supervision of BSc, MSc, MRes, and PhD students. My expertise spans molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, genetics, immunology, microbial ecology, evolutionary biology, and the One Health framework. I began tutoring during my undergraduate studies and have since supported learners across a wide range of topics—from cell biology and evolution to host–parasite interactions and integrated biological systems. Throughout my career, I have taught and mentored students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, both in the UK and internationally. This experience has strengthened my commitment to inclusive, empathetic, and globally aware teaching. BA (Hons) Music Graduate with 1st class marks in music analysis, theory (common practice) and composition. Classically trained on Pianoforte to Grade 8 and beyond, I'm offering exciting lessons in Music Theory! For students of all abilities, I teach music in a fun and engaging way. I have experience teaching a wide range of ages (7-55) and have a full enhanced DBS certificate. - Lessons are online using webcam, Sibelius software and share-screen technology I can take you from complete beginner to a confident reader and writer of music notation able to compose your own music as well as understand how Western classical music functions. Everything from notes, keys, chords and cadences, to more advanced concepts such as transposition, unusual clefs, functional harmony and even stylistic composition (e.g. Bach chorales!)

This class is for anyone who wants to learn maths and to understand problem solving through the lens of maths. The goal is to empower each learner to become fluent in the fundamentals of maths from basic, to intermediate, and to advanced concepts tailored to each learner's need. The class will include varied examples and exercises to help build learner's confidence over time to solve interesting real world and classroom problems.
