French taught in English - from a native French and English speaker

From 22 £ /h

I'm a French native speaker currently studying in Groningen.
I want to focus on your problem areas : grammar, confidence in speaking or homework for some. So the introductory lesson will be to find that out and devise a plan together on how to overcome it.
I have already taught a language to children and adult, in that case it was English to French-speakers.

I am an open, young student who is motivated to make you like the French language !

I myself am from the History teacher in Windesheim, Zwolle and now I study History with Honors at the RUG. There I had a lot of fun studying and especially helping others to study. History and all alpha subjects are my strength and I can convey them to others with great pleasure.
I also helped many years with learning disabilities through secondary schools, so I have become proficient in coaching and helping students plan.
As far as my English is concerned ,; you can assume that it is flawless. Because I do not only study in English but have also lived and worked for several periods in English-speaking countries.

I'm a French expat in Groningen. I'm here to learn English, so I can give you French lessons. I'm available from October 2019 to February 2020.
On the first lesson, I will evalue the level to estimate points to improve.
Don't hesitate to tell me your aim.

I am a French native speaker living in Groningen and love sharing my French culture with different nationalities. The purpose of this class is to immerse yourself in a French environment without living in the country itself. Therefore, I am adapting and offering different approaches to learn the language via (French) movies, reading the classics and most famous French writers/intellectuals (i.e. Sartre, Victor Hugo, Camus) and practicing standard grammar exercises to obtain good basic of the language. Of course, those different activities will adapt to your language level.

Bonjour !
My name is Mouhamed, 24, student at the University of Groningen.
Did you know that French is an official language in 29 countries across multiple continents, and used across 84 countries ?
Learning a language is nowadays an important tool that may open doors for many purpose.
As a French native speaker and teacher, I will be guiding you through lessons, tutorials and tips to be proficient in French.

À bientôt !

I am excited to offer personalized Spanish and French lessons tailored to your needs, whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills. I am a native Spanish speaker and fluent in French, having lived in Brussels for eight years. My classes can focus on various aspects, including grammar, vocabulary, and conjugation, or simply practicing conversation to build fluency and confidence. I offer both in-person and online sessions, making learning flexible and accessible to everyone. Let’s work together to achieve your language goals!

Need help with Italian, Spanish, or French? I’m a native Italian speaker who grew up in Spain, so I’m fluent in both Italian and Spanish. I also studied French and earned the European Baccalaureate, so I can confidently help you with all three languages, whether you’re a beginner, need exam prep, or just want to improve your conversation skills.

I work with kids, students, and adults, anyone looking to learn or improve their language skills.I have a C1 on the three languages (according to the European Baccalaureate, but I am in the process of getting the official certificates) and plenty of experience helping others, especially kids (I have many siblings, so I know how to keep learning fun and engaging!).
I'm an international student in Groningen, currently I'm on my second year of studying International Communication at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. I sadly do not speak any Dutch, therefore the lessons will be taught in English, I also do not have a place to hold the lessons so we can do it online or I can travel to your place!

If you’re looking for a patient and friendly tutor, feel free to reach out. As well as if you have any questions!

Learn French with a native speaker !

My name is Pauline, I am from Grenoble in France. I value learning through conversations, to not only learn the language, but share the culture. I am patient and understanding, ready to adapt to everyone's needs.

I am new to tutoring, but I am dedicated.

Hi,
I'm Alexandre, a twenty-one year old french student out of Paris.
I'm new to tutoring but not to the french language 😂. I have experience working with kids from age sevent to seventeen (international camp counsellor ).
I'd love to get in touch with you

Would you like to feel more confident speaking French, prepare for a language exam, or use French in your academic or professional life?

I'm a native French speaker with six years of experience teaching French to learners of different ages and proficiency levels. Between 2019 and 2025, I worked with students pursuing a variety of goals, from improving their conversational skills to preparing for B2 certification, gaining admission to study programmes in France, and finding employment there.

Together we can work on:
- Conversation and fluency: wo you understand French but find it difficult to speak spontaneously? We can practise everyday conversations, discuss topics that interest you, and work on expressing yourself more naturally and confidently.
- French for work and university: whether you need to write formal emails, contact a professor, prepare for a job interview, or communicate with colleagues, we can work on the language, tone, and expressions appropriate to each situation.
- Grammar and pronunciation: we can tackle the areas you find most challenging and work through examples that help you understand how French works in practice.
- Exam preparation: If you're preparing for a French language exam, including B2 certification, we can work towards your specific objectives and identify the areas where you need the most support.

Over time, I've learned that everyone approaches a language differently. That's why I like to adapt my lessons to your needs, interests, and objectives, while making the learning process engaging and practical. Learning a language becomes much more engaging when it connects with your interests and everyday life. Alongside more structured exercises, I like to use authentic materials such as films, songs, articles, and other contemporary media to explore how French is actually used.

Tell me a little about your level and what you'd like to achieve, and we can work out an approach that suits you! Depending on your goals, we might practise a conversation, discuss a film, work through a grammar point, prepare a formal email, or focus on a specific exam task. I'll adapt our lessons and exercises to your level and interests, so you can make progress without losing sight of what motivates you to learn.

Lessons are available online and in person in Groningen, either in a café, at the forum, or on campus!
