You always wanted to learn to play flute, you have an audition or exam coming up or just want to get some new input on your playing?
I am here to guide you towards your goals!

The lessons are tailored towards the goals and needs of the student and based on the DILS school (“Dentro Il Suono” founded by Giampaolo Pretto) of flute playing. Through specific excercises we will make transform your flute sound into your own personal voice.
We will work on technical aspects and repertoire we will choose together, fitting the current level of the student.

Lessons can be conducted in German, English and Dutch.
I will based in Graz from October on but occasionally I can teach in Groningen (Netherlands) or Paderborn (Germany).
Extra information
The student has to have an instrument. If that’s not the case yet, I am happy to assist in finding one.

About Me
Hi, I am Thore!

I am a Masters student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in the flute class of Karin Bonelli (Vienna Philharmonic) and the piccolo class of Peter Verhoyen (Antwerp Symphony).
My Bachelors degree I completed at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen and privately with Francesco Gatti (Noord Nederlands Orkest). After a period as solo piccolo at the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice I got to study under the tutelage of Maximilian Randlinger (Nürnberg State Philharmonic).

My teaching is based on the DILS school of flute playing which I’ve been exposed to intensively through my studies with Francesco Gatti. I’ve deepened my knowledge in this school through masterclasses with Rebecca Viora, Matteo Sampaolo, Luigi Nannetti and the school’s president, Giampaolo Pretto, himself.
Through the DILS method we will, together, make your voice your own personal flute sound. Additionally to that, I am using a wide array of exercises to tackle technical hurdles.

Besides that I could gain teaching experience through my private teaching (from beginners to main subject Flute students) and teaching internships that have been supervised by Raymond Honing (Methodology and traverso, Conservatorium van Amsterdam) and Janette Kappelhof (Music school Bij Vrijdag, Groningen).

After studying at the music school in Gleisdorf, I went to the Graz Conservatory and after graduating from the music high school, I studied at the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), where I did vocal and instrumental pedagogy (IGP) at the Institute for Popular Music with a focus Studied classical sax.

I took my own instrumental lessons from Richard Winkler, Wolfgang Puschnig, Martin Fuss, Klaus Dickbauer and Fabian Rucker, among others. There are also countless workshops with e.g. Branford Masalis, Randy Brecker, Torsten Skringer etc.
In my career, instruments such as piano, clarinet and flute were added.
I'm a professional musician myself and play in bands such as "Candlelight Ficus", "Die Ranzler", "Moneka Group" and "Matho & Das Vienna Dancehall Orchestra", as well as jobs with big bands, DJ's and much more.
