About Me
I am an experienced international school English and Media Studies teacher with over 20 years of teaching, tutoring, and exam preparation experience. I have taught students from a wide range of backgrounds, including native English speakers, bilingual learners, and students who are still developing confidence in English.
My teaching style is supportive, clear, and structured. I believe students make the best progress when they feel comfortable, understand exactly what they need to improve, and are given practical steps to help them move forward. I try to make lessons focused, engaging, and adapted to each student’s level, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I have particular experience supporting students with English Literature, English Language, academic writing, essay structure, reading comprehension, exam technique, Media Studies, and university preparation. I also work well with younger learners, helping them build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary, and general communication.
As a parent of two children myself, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and building a positive relationship with young people. I aim to create lessons where students feel supported but also challenged to improve.
I am happy to work with students who need help catching up, preparing for exams, improving their confidence, or extending their skills to a higher level.
