Drawing is a combination of freeing your mind, testing you determination and finding your own way of expression. Most importantly everybody can learn it. Of course you need to start from the basics if you want to understand it so this is a course in which I will teach you about composition, light, depth, colors and sketching and continue on with what you want to learn more about it.

Extra information

Bring whatever you have ever drawn and don’t be shy. And if you are a absolute beginner it’s even better, you’ll start fresh. I can provide you with materials for the first lesson so I can explain what is good and bad.

About Me

I’m a second year animation student in Willem de Kooning Academie. Drawing has always been my passion and inseparable part of my life. I’ve been practicing it since I was around 5 and been fully dedicated for the last four years.

Do you want to learn how to draw like a professional? In our classes, we cover both the technical and the conceptual part of drawing. We are going to develop your first projects with constant feedback, and use creative exercises to ensure your progress and to keep your creativity flow.

Within certain period you will learn how to let your creativity to flow more loosely using different techniques of painting and drawing. We will experiment a lot, but also get to know the importance of art history. No matter what is your level, the most important element is to enjoy.
The idea is to free your imagination.

Everyone is a Master in Art if you love it, learn to know it, work on it.

Painting works as a different kind of language for kids. In an art lesson, a child learns (according to their age and character) how to use this language better, to express themselves more precisely. Many kids are hiding a great artist inside them, but art lessons are not just for gifted kids. And, although there are many great artists who got inspired by children's drawing, the goal is not to train children as an artists, but help them become more aware of the means of expression that are in their disposal , which will later make them more balanced adults, who are aware of the way art narrates the history of our world.
This is achieved by familiarizing kids with a variety of techniques and artists. Since the lessons are private, there can be a lot of flexibility with that.

Drawing is a foundational skill for practicing art. I've designed this course to assist you in acquiring the foundations of drawing up to your desired level. My area of specialization is portraiture so of course we can dive as deeply into this as you'd like.

I am an artist with more than 20 years of experience. Lat 10 years I was working with children of different ages, but also had evening classes, where we could enjoy painting, good chat and wine. At the moment I teach small groups of maximum 5, or private lessons.

Happy to meet you and show you the world of art trough my eyes.

You will learn techniques for acrylic painting, color blending, basic of drawing mandalas. For children from age 4 to 6 it will be more introduction to colors and being familiar with different painting and drawing tools. It is also possible for older children for having this introduction.

This is an individual course design depending on your request and your starting level. Each course includes lessons filled with instruction information, practice time and homework assignment. You can begin with Level 1 and continue further or choose to start on a specific level.

Level 1 - This course is an absolute beginner level. You can hold a pencil and a brush but the starting is so stressful and confusing. You're scared of making a mistake, you don't know where to begin, you're getting lost when it comes to composition or shading whenever you start to draw. I GOT YOU! Those are very common feelings when you start to draw and it can be discouraging, give you a feeling of being stuck or just very dissatisfied with your art.

In this course I will guide you through basic traditional art techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. We will be studying composition, forms, shapes, structure and texture of different objects such as fabric, furniture, animal fur, plants etc. I’ll show you how to achieve depth in your shading, how to understand light, and the effect of fragility of plants or hardship and reflection of metal. I’ll teach you observation, things to look for in the drawing, but most of all I'll give you tools for future independent learning that will save you tons of time while figuring on your own!
The key to success is your motivation and time you will dedicate to your homework practice.

Level 2 - This course is directed towards people who have some basic understanding of traditional art media techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. Your art is currently your hobby, but you would like to change it into a career? Know more about art as a business model, get insights into career tips and opportunities. Or do you want to improve your sketching skills, learn to digitise your work, create digital illustrations in Procreate, or combine it all in your own unique way?

Level 3 - Advanced. It will focus on your specific desire as an artist and adjust to your skills and technique preferences. During the first introduction skills, I’ll provide some exercises to see how you work and together we will find the way we can work and improve.

Art Courses are a playful, hands-on after-school art workshop for children ages 7 and up (and curious teens or adults too!), where creativity, self-expression, and teamwork come together. In small groups, participants explore painting, drawing, sketching, and crafting with a wide variety of materials—like acrylics, pastels, pencils, collage, and mixed media. Each session offers something new: from experimenting with techniques to working together on imaginative projects that encourage collaboration and confidence. The workshops are based in Rotterdam, but I’m also available to travel to Den Haag and Delft, depending on interest. Classes can be held at you own personal space, making it flexible and accessible.
