I teach Italian mainly to adults focusing on my client's interests like traveling, cooking, sports.
I help students in the preparation of oral GCSE.
I try to make the lessons as fun as possible for the absolute beginners to the real advanced learners. I love to share my knowledge of the italian culture with ad hoc conversation classes.

About Me

I am Italian and are now 15 years that I live in London. I have a major degree in Pharmacy and a post-graduation in Applied Pharmacology.
After having my 2 children I have put my science career on hold and started to teach Italian firstly to friends than to students.
I run one-to-one conversation classes with adults, and from beginners to advanced classes. I also help in the preparation of oral GCSE.
I organize the lessons in a fun way keeping in mind the interests of my students.

My three main areas of expertise (not necessarily in this order):

- Chess: I teach chess to beginners and intermediate players up to ELO 1800 or ECF 1700, working on the tactical and strategic aspects of openings, middle games and endgames.. "chess is life in miniature"!

- Fitness / Running / Triathlon: I coach people who want to get fitter and generally incorporate any endurance activity into a health(ier) lifestyle. I am a dedicated coach who has competed in several marathons and Ironman races (also qualified for the Ironman World Championship). I focus on nutrition, stress and sleep as well for a holistic approach.

- Languages: I specialize in tutoring Italian and Spanish; my style is to keep students challenged and motivated through simple classes and practical exercises (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary).. I'm a demanding teacher but will guide you in a fun and interactive way.

I have been teaching children aged 4 and up with different methods based on schooling, so in the form of play, repetition and listening to the little ones in preschool age and with extra reading and written activities for others. In any case, I always alternate a more "academic" part with a part dedicated to games and/or Italian culture, therefore “lighter” topics but always functional to learning. With concern to my work with adults I also alternate grammar teaching with conversation, video watching, listening, and commenting in the form of debate.
