This class introduces students to the fundamentals of playing the viola and violin in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Students will learn how to properly hold and care for the instrument, develop basic bowing techniques, and begin reading simple music notation. Through guided exercises, rhythm practice, and easy melodies, participants will build foundational skills in tone production, posture, and musical expression.

The class also emphasizes listening skills, ensemble awareness, and confidence while playing with others. No prior musical experience is required. By the end of the course, students will be able to play simple pieces and have a strong foundation for continuing their viola studies.

For this class we use Google classroom, and Google meets! So please have a laptop charged and prepared!

Also you MAY need an essential elements strings book (you can find them on amazon easily)
