Ciao, my name is Roberto :) I graduated in Political and Economic Science at the University of Milan. After working for a year for an American company in Milan, I moved to Australia, where I have worked, studied and traveled for two years. It has been an incredible experience! I had the opportunity of visiting beautiful places, discovering so many different cultures and developed myself from a personal and professional point of view. Since two years, I have been living in Haarlem - a wonderful city close to Amsterdam - and to the coast 🌊 - in the Netherlands. I love teaching and helping people to find out more about Italian culture, history, and arts. I would love to use all the modern techniques of teaching that I learned and practiced them with you. Teaching is an extraordinary passion! Parliamo italiano!

EmmaPractice & Learn Italian language and culture with a native from Tuscany!
Ciao! My name is Emma, I am from Tuscany, but I live in Leuven already for a couple of years. I teach Italian language, from beginners to advanced level, with love and passion through grammar exercises, conversations about culture, literature and daily news, but also playful games meant to learn new vocabulary and practice it. In this way, and through a clear communication of teacher-student, I have the best outcome in my classes. In my lessons, I've had students of all ages who were really motivated to practice or to start learning the language. Usually I don't teach with a book, I provide all the material to study on and the exercises, so you'll just need to have with you a pen and a notebook!

ValentinaLearn Italian from a Roman artist in Rotterdam - order your coffee like a pro
Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past ten years. I have taught privately and at language schools like La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I will customize my materials to your interests, needs and desired pace. And because you are learning from a native Italian you will also learn about Italian culture and history. You will absorb a way of thinking, not just grammar rules. I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad book ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of those dialogues are carved in my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien…” When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling and we will go on “talking walks” because when you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre (equivalent to an American MA) and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote a thesis about translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden and I tried to ride a horse across America.
