About Me

I started playing drums about fifteen years ago with a rather pop / rock orientation and I fell in love with the instrument. I then very quickly became interested in funk / soul to end up also moving towards jazz and today, I study at the Conservatory of Brussels to make my job.
Teaching is also one of my professional aspirations, I want to be able to share my knowledge and accompany each student individually with the methods that suit him. Indeed, I believe in multiple approaches and that everyone can learn effectively and having fun but not necessarily the same way. That's why I adapt and learn a lot from my students when I teach.

I am Thijs (30) an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatory in Ghent. In addition, I have followed masterclasses and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups.
