Looking to get into drama school? Prepare for an audition? Or just want to improve your acting skills? I offer tailored acting classes to suit your needs. I previously trained as an actor myself and now I work as acting coach and a director with both children and adults. I have worked in drama schools and with students hoping to gain entry so I understand the process and what's required from an audition. I am also a specialist in screen acting training being the head of acting for the Young Film Academy, working with children aged 10-17, so if this is your desired focus then get in touch.

My approach is a mix of traditional Stanislavski as well as physio-physical actor training, I aim to work within the needs of the student and understand their personal methodology and style. I have a special interest in working with neurodiverse actors and finding unique ways of approaching training for a variety of needs.

Richard
Hi my name is Rich. I offer one 2 one acting sessions in Peckham Rye to help all levels and abilities improve confidence in their performance.

I am a British actor and performer with over 20 years of experience working in TV, Film and Theatre.
My TV credits include over 200 episodes of playing Dr Caleb Knight on BBC's hit series Casualty 2014-2020. 24 episodes of hit teen soap Hollyoaks playing Father Francis. For film i had lead roles in the box office smash British film STREETDANCE 3D and the Film Festival hit EVE.

In 30min or 1 hour sessions we will work through the text(if there is a scene to prep or i can provide interesting material) and discuss ways of applying the best techniques to unlock your performances full potential. Whether it be for a big audition or just a bit of fun i will offer a calm and productive environment for you to find creativity and flourish.

I have trained extensively in the Meisner technique as well as a more Method approach at Guildhall Music & Drama School. There really isn't a set technique i teach from, rather a balance of what works for the individual student as we are human and all work in completely different ways. I am here to help you use your instrument and unlock your true instincts to help you shine in your own extraordinary way.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can be of service to you and then let's go from there. I can also read in and film your self tape audition with you using my own tried and tested set up. Filming can either be done within the 30min/hour coaching session or as a separate filming session in its own right. You'll never feel rushed while striving to film your perfect take as i am well aware that stress can hamper any performance. The time is yours and if we go over slightly so be it.

I can also offer online classes, please contact me for details.

Studying for an audition and want some help working on monologues or duologues?
Wanting to induce a more dramatic performance in to your song?
Interested in how drama skills can help your public speaking/presentation and communication skills?

Or just generally curious about anything drama or acting related - whether it's about analysing a text, writing your own script or delving more into any of the many methods you can use to develop your skills as an actor an performer?

Then I might be able to help you!

I'm a professional actor, trained at Cygnet Theatre in Exeter, now living in London. I have extensive experience performing in immersive theatre - communicating, catching and holding the attention of a wide variety of people.

I also have experience in storytelling, working with and teaching children of all ages, as well as writing and producing theatre.

Starting drama classes as a teenager was one of the most important things I ever did. It help me build confidence, develop empathy and ground me as the person I am today.

I love performing and creating experiences for my audience - watching their faces as they're surprised, entertained or disgusted by the stories I tell.

But just as important as that is the opportunity to share some of the tools I learned from drama school with other people - tools that can be used every day in communication, emotional regulation and play.

I am more than happy to tailor classes to your specific needs, so if you think I can help you out, get in touch and we will talk!

My lessons are primarily for adults. You can be needing a coach for an audition or a full production, maybe you want to find that spark again by trying a different method, or you might want to try acting out, great! I can adjust to whatever you need. My lessons are at least an hour or more. I have a vocal/light physical warm-up that I like to do at the beginning of subsequent lessons. I remember one of my first teachers saying "An actor should be a blank canvas." And this made sense at first. So I went up on our small stage to do a monologue and it was terrible. My teacher said, "Kamil, you didn't really do anything." "Well, yeah? I am a blank canvas" As a neurodiverse person, I am overanalytical, literal, incredibly anxious and have difficulty speaking with full confidence.

However, my Master's level education from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School has given me a toolkit where I can work towards placing my self-doubt and uncertainty behind 'The Work.' The Work is the hours you've spent in the text, the pencil markings in the script, the crinkled pages from taking it in and out of your backpack. It's the objective truth that you can rely on when your self-awareness doesn't want you to be the character, when you can feel an audience member looking at you, when the person behind the camera laughs at something you didn't inherently think was funny. It's your character's lifesaver.

For those that may require more structure when they receive text, I can help you deconstruct that overwhelming building into its key components. Whether it's from a play you've been newly cast in, a voiceover script you can't wrap your head around, or just a simple self-tape, we can work to break down text that lets BE that blank canvas on the day, but you know what paints you've used, what strokes you can utilise, you know the feel of the paintbrush from all the canvases you've practised on. Also, it's a good way to memorise lines. And that's just a nice bonus.
