Mathematics and Physics for the International Baccalaureate

I am currently a Tutor at Kaplan International College London at London Bridge.

Apart from that, I am a fully Qualified Secondary School Teacher (Science). Over the last 10 years, I have been involved in Private Tuition in the areas of Mathematics and Physics for Exam/College Preparation as well as University Level Courses. I have experience in the UK (GCSE & A-Levels), the International Baccalaureate curriculum in Physics (SL/HL) and Mathematics (SL/HL), the Australian (Year11 & 12) School System as well as Oxbridge Admission tests (PAT/STEP). Furthermore, I have worked as an Academic Researcher (Theoretical Particle Physics).

Professional Experience

I am a full-time Private Tutor in Mathematics and Physics. A large part of my work is related to University Level tuition but also the last two grades of High School (exam preparation).

From my placements in UK and Australia, I have extensive experience and knowledge in teaching 1st and 2nd-year Physics courses, such as Classical Mechanics, Classical Electrodynamics, Thermodynamics, Calculus, Statistics as well as more advanced 3rd and 4th-year subjects, such as Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Field Theory, Optics & Lasers, Particle Physics, Special and General Relativity, etc.

Moreover, I have taught various topics in University Level mathematics, such as Calculus, Advanced/Multivariable Calculus, Algebra, Complex Analysis, Group Theory, Differential Geometry, Differential Equations, Mathematical Physics, etc.

Furthermore, I have experience in the UK schooling system and currently work with a number of London based tutoring offices, teaching Physics and Mathematics for GCSE/iGCSE and A-Levels (AQA, CCEA, OCR, WJEC ).

I also have experience in GRE Subject Tests (Physics and Mathematics) preparation as well as SAT and GMAT (Math/Quantitative/Analytic sections)

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring teaching methods are highly personalized and are based on result-oriented techniques that help students overcome learning barriers. An initial assessment/evaluation and subsequently a tuition plan is made. Given that feedback is essential, I continuously communicate with the student and her/his family in order to adjust and improve the teaching experience.

More independent students will come up with their own questions and a list of topics from the syllabus that need help with. This is the best way that tutoring works. More challenged students will require a scaffolding and specific lesson structure e.g. full syllabus teaching along with homework, assessments, etc.

As seen from my CV, I have completed a Diploma in Education (DipEd, UNSW 2012) and I am a fully Qualified Secondary School Teacher. I have experience in teaching both at one-to-one and at a class setting.

The rest of my education involves a Ph.D. in Theoretical High Energy Particle Physics (University of Oxford, 2002), a Bachelors Degree in Physics (University of Ioannina 1998) and a Diploma in Business (Kent Institute of Business and Technology, 2012). I also have extensive experience in research (Theoretical Physics, 2001-2007).

Private math lessons in French by shared interactive whiteboard
I give remote math lessons, in French, by shared interactive board for high school and high school students. I am an architect civil engineer and I have been teaching for 8 years. The most important thing for me is to personalize the lessons, to guide the student so that he understands the subject by himself, so that he manages to organize his work, to structure his reasoning, to manage his time, to manage his stress and finally to gain confidence in him. All this is done by adapting the course to its type of learning, putting all our energy to target and overcome blockages, and finally achieve autonomy. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to write me, I will be happy to answer you as soon as possible.

🚀EVERY CHILD IS A MATHS GENIUS | British Tutor 🇬🇧
.. [British Maths Tutor] ... When I was a young child, I believed I was not a mathematical person. It wasn't until I met an amazing teacher at age 15 that I discovered my mathematical genius and my life was changed forever. I'm eternally grateful to that teacher. My teacher knew that self-image and self-belief is the key to unlock your child's mathematical abilities. Everyone is good at maths, but we all have different styles of thinking. Bad teachers teach every child the same way. My job is find your child's style of mathematics and allow him to discover that for himself. When he discovers that, he will begin to enjoy the beauty and power of mathematics ...and then you will see as the grades begin to soar. 👉Click the blue "Contact Oliver" button above and lets discuss how we can unlock your child's mathematical talents! 😊

Mathematics Courses In Amsterdam ( English or French )
Listening, patient, each session is broken down as follows: a reminder of the course, an explanation of the methodology on "classic" exercises, tips and tricks and several practices. Objective: An understanding of the course, methodologies and a perfect application in routine. Depending on the interest of the student, I also relate these areas to everyday life and some trades to bring a new perspective on maths. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any information.

Robert
Need help with social studies, English or mathematics?
Hey, my name is Robert. I am 22 years old and are currently studying European studies at UvA. I am from Denmark and last year I worked as a teacher at a private school in Vejle, Denmark where I primarily taught math and English. I will be able to tutor social science and English on a level equivalent to secondary education. Math however I will only tutor on a primary school level due to my knowledge of the subject not being as proficient as the other two. My native language is Danish, but my English is almost as excellent as my Danish and I will be able to tutor in either English or Danish however I do not that I do not tutor in Dutch. I am good with children, always smiling and happy so I would be able to tutor children as well as adults. I sincerely hope that whoever reads this will consider me as a tutor. Best regards Robert Kolby

Math , Problem Solving mindset, and Test prep tutoring
I specialize in teaching Math. From my childhood this has been my favorite subject. I have 2+ years of tutoring experience. My goal is the following 1) to help my student think there are more ways to solve the same problem. 2) to help them provide problem solving mindset. 3)after my class give them assignments/homework. 4)measure their progress on regular basis and help them where they lack expertise. 5) prepare the topic of the day in advance , so we can use the time effectively. 6) to help students to like this subject and build logical approach towards the subject . I would be glad to help students struggling with this subject.
