One of the things I love most about teaching is building a custom learning experience for each student. No matter what your interests are, I will help you improve your flute skills and learn to play the music you love. My lessons range from preparing orchestral excerpts for an audition to transcribing and arranging you favorite video game music for the flute. I also believe that it’s important to share your music with the world, so I’d be more than happy to help you find opportunities to play with other musicians and perform. My students have performed at music programs such as the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, Idyllwild Orchestra Camp, the John J. Cali School of Music, and the Flute Center of New York. Hi!

My name is Serena and I’m a professional flutist based in Paris. I’ve been teaching flute lessons for over 5 years and online lessons specifically for the past 3. One of the things I love most about teaching is building a custom learning experience for each student. No matter what your interests are, I will help you improve your flute skills and learn to play the music you love. My lessons range from preparing orchestral excerpts for an audition to transcribing and arranging your favorite video game music for the flute. I also believe that it’s important to share your music with the world, so I’d be more than happy to help you find opportunities to play with other musicians and perform.

The courses will include:

Sound exercises to acquire a rich and rich sound

Digital Mechanism exercises for instrumental fluency

Exercises on concentration and body awareness to find the right gesture with the least effort (principles of Alexander Technique)

Learn pieces of repertoire (depending on the level with or without score) and learn to improvise a melody.

All this with little work but quality! The goal is to gain freedom and enjoyment by practicing this instrument and that this practice enriches your life and why not give you practical tools to reuse in other areas.

I began playing the flute when I was 8.After my apprenticeship in Secondary Music School affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and at a very tender age of 19, I started playing the third flute and piccolo at the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.So if you want to learn how to play in a band or elevate your sightseeing level,I might be the one to help.
First year I got in école normale de musique de Paris,i was accepted unanimously and obtained congrats from all jury for Degree “Diplôme de exécution ” .
This year I have obtained the Artiste diplôme(concertiste)highest diplome of performing in Europe.I really hope my personal experience can help more people who loves musique and flûtes~

I do not have a precise methodology, each student is different and requires a different approach, I adapt the lessons to the student and their way of working.

I actually have two intermediate level students and I usually divide the lessons into three parts (to be discussed)
⁃ Warming up
⁃ Piece (of the student's or teacher's choice) with the technical exercises necessary to play it
⁃ Duo if interested or musical training/music theory if necessary

I can also help conservatory students succeed in their flute and music theory exams.
In short, you are welcome in my class, to start, to play duets in pairs or to rehearse before an exam.

I have worked with students of all ages, from children to adults. I have also played with orchestras and participated in concerts, in Taiwan and abroad. I graduated from the École Normale de Musique de Paris and previously studied at the National University of the Arts in Tainan, Taiwan. During my studies, I supervised younger students and gave private flute lessons. My students come from all over the world and I offer lessons in Mandarin, English and French. I can adapt the lessons according to the level of each student. My wish is for my students to enjoy music and share my passion for this incredible instrument, the flute!

I've been playing saxophone since I was 14 and previously studied in Germany, where I'm from. Since I started playing, I've performed in various big bands and solo projects, such as the South German Youth Jazz Orchestra. For my own projects, I've toured throughout Germany, France, and the Netherlands. I also taught for a long time in Germany at a music school, where I had students ranging from 11 to 65 years old, and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching all levels and musical styles! Having gained considerable experience, I know what's important for each student and how to best achieve their goals and, above all, make learning enjoyable! I specialize in jazz, but I'm open to anything!
