Hello! I am a Spanish trumpet player residing in Cologne. I started playing the French horn when I was 6 years old and I studied my bachelor's degree in Madrid and my master's degree in Amsterdam. I offer lessons on modern and historical horn (baroque horn or natural horn). No matter what your level, age or expectations, I am a flexible teacher with experience teaching people of all ages, levels, musical preferences and backgrounds. Lessons will be adapted to the student's progress, circumstances and requirements. I balance musicality and fun by ensuring that each lesson challenges you with a new technical or theoretical concept, but always ends with something fun, like your favorite sheet music or song.

Hello there. I am Erdem, I have been tutoring students on math and physics for the last 6 years. I studied Physics in Istanbul Bogazici Uni, Turkey. Currently I am doing a masters on Atmospheric Physics at the University of Cologne. 6 years ago, I started tutoring because it is a very fun job to do. I liked seeing students learn things that they had not been able to learn before. Seeing those 'aha' moments when it finally 'clicks' for them makes me want to continue this work forever. Sometimes students have a hard time understanding some concepts. The reason is typically the fact that they miss some vital information from the previous topics, and they don't know what they don't know. I think my most important job as a tutor is figuring out what they don't know, and help them fill the blanks in their knowledge. Note: Unfortunately I don't speak German at the moment, (Although I am working on it) I can tutor only in English or Turkish. I give my lessons face to face in Cologne, or online via Zoom. Additionally, I have participated in various band projects where I have played numerous genres such as jazz, folk, Irish, gypsy, rock and pop. In my Oboe lessons I like to focus on the individual needs of the student, for instance breathing technique, posture, the embouchure, or finger work. I set my lessons around the music my students are learning and focus on creativity within the music and exploring the different ways of musicality, so that my students can have a wide skill set of phrasings, dynamics and articulations. I include reed making in my classes depending on the student's ability with the instrument, and I am very happy to provide reeds as well as an extra service. When I teach piano, I include a range of different styles in my lessons. For beginners, I work from various books to encourage them to learn how to read notes on the page as well as playing freely. I also include melody writing which makes the process of learning notes and music easier and more exciting for the student. I work on posture, finger work and different ways of expression on the instrument which gives the student a choice of how to perform and different ways of expressing their musicianship. I coach abilities from complete beginner to intermediate. I can work in both German and English.
