Mathematics is beautiful, but may be found difficult to understand, especially when learning new concepts. Each exercise is a sort of logical puzzle, that can be solved with the correct insights!

My lessons focus mainly on helping students make their homework, explaining concepts that their learning material discusses, and preparation for upcoming exams. I usually work with the student's learning material.

I have much experience in tutoring mathematics to students from secondary school, and my only goal is to improve my student's grades!

About Me

My name is Jan van Rossum and live in the Netherlands. I have a bachelor's degree in both Physics and Mathematics and am currently doing a master's degree in Physics at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. The logics of mathematics fascinate me, and I enjoy exploring its implementations in physics.

I have had the privilege to tutor multiple students in mathematics in my home town, guiding them to their final exams.

I speak English, Dutch and German fluently, as I have lived in both Germany and the USA for multiple years. In my free time I enjoy playing the church organ and discovering new places.

My method of teaching starts with analyzing the difficulties for the student. Then we will work on this in a focused way. I will first explain more and then we will practice together. It is important that you practice well outside of the lessons.

I studied computer science (and mathematics) at Radboud University. I finished mathematics at the gymnasium with an 8. So I can give you tutoring at any level. I have given math tutoring before and currently also have math students. Furthermore, I also have tutoring students for chemistry and physics, so I can help you with that too.
