One-to-One English as a Second Language lessons (native teacher)

I offer 1:1 classes for children and adults who are learning English or wish to improve their command of the English language. Lessons are with myself, a native English speaker and University of Cambridge graduate, currently completing a Research Masters in Developmental Psychology at Leiden University. I have experience teaching languages to school children and I also do regular copy-editing work.

Teaching can be tailored to the specific requirements of the individual: for example preparing for school exams, preparing for tests of English as a foreign language (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) or improving writing skills before Masters level study. Each class will generally include development of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Some homework may be set in preparation for the lesson depending on level of study and student goals.

I am passionate about access to education and give complementary advice and feedback to students preparing applications for higher education.

About Me

I am currently a student of developmental psychology (Research Masters) at the University of Leiden. I attended the University of Cambridge where I read psychology alongside neuroscience, neurobiology, biological anthropology and the history of science and medicine.

I am passionate about creating opportunities for individuals to flourish academically and especially for those that have challenges to their learning.

I offer one-to-one English lessons to children and young adults in order to help them develop their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in English.

Lessons can be tailored to the specific needs of the student, whether that be preparing for exams or being able to converse more easily in English.

You won't need anything else rather than a pen and a paper. We'll talk and I'll teach you how to correctly pronounce, the tenses, false friends and phrasal verbs and anything else you may need in your everyday.
