From 22.57 £ /h
Hi, I'm Thaís from Brasil :) I teach with patience and a personalized approach, focusing on each student’s specific challenges. I draw and paint alongside my students, making the learning process clearer, more accessible, and more engaging. My classes use dynamic methods and explore a wide range of drawing and painting techniques, including color studies, sketching, scale, depth, light and shadow, and perspective.
I work with simple and effective methods that sharpen visual perception and develop a deeper understanding of color, form, and texture. My goal is to help students build confidence in their creative abilities, even if they already have basic skills, are complete beginners or aspiring professionals.
Class content (fundaments):
Introduction to essential materials.
Perception of shapes and basic structures.
Proportion and shading studies.
Perspective techniques.
Creation of artistic compositions.

About Me
I am an artist and architect with eight years of teaching experience in classrooms, studios/ateliers, and public spaces. In my classes, I guide students from the fundamentals of drawing and painting to more advanced and specialized methods. My approach combines technical learning with creative exploration, helping students develop both skill and personal expression.
I believe that learning art is a process that requires observation, patience, and experimentation. For this reason, I always respect each person’s individual rhythm, interests, and creative path. Classes can include observational drawing, sketching, and painting with different materials such as watercolor, acrylic, and gouache, depending on the student’s goals.
Over the years, I have supported students in their artistic development and also helped many prepare portfolios and skills required for university entrance exams in art and architecture programs, with several successful admissions. My goal as a teacher is to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore, practice, and gradually build confidence in their artistic abilities.

Education
I first completed a degree in Architecture and Urbanism, where I developed a strong technical foundation in spatial thinking, design processes, and visual representation. During this time, I learned to observe structures, proportions, and the relationship between space, people, and the built environment. This education trained my eye to analyze form, composition, and organization with precision.
Later, I pursued a Teaching Degree in Visual Arts, which expanded my artistic practice and deepened my understanding of creativity, expression, and art education. This second degree allowed me to explore different artistic languages, materials, and pedagogical approaches, while also strengthening my ability to guide others through creative processes.
These two fields complement each other in my work. Architecture offers me a more technical and structural perspective, while visual arts brings a sensitive, experimental, and expressive dimension. Together, they shape the way I create and teach, allowing me to combine observation, technique, and imagination in both my artistic practice and my educational projects.

Experience / Qualifications
My background includes international exhibition curation at the Village Arts Factory in Michigan, USA, where I collaborated in organizing and developing exhibitions that connected artists from different contexts and practices. I have also exhibited and sold my illustrations at the Georgetown Flea Market in Washington, USA, an experience that allowed me to share my work directly with the public and engage with diverse audiences.
In Brazil, I have participated in the production and organization of art fairs and exhibitions such as Selva Humana (2018) and Sincronicidade (2019), contributing to the creation of collaborative spaces for artists to present their work and exchange ideas.
Currently, I design and lead art classes, workshops, and creative projects that connect art, space, and community. My work encourages experimentation, observation, and personal expression through artistic practice. I value processes that involve dialogue, care, and shared experience, creating environments where participants can explore creativity while developing technical skills and confidence in their artistic voice.
