I can give you 1:1, online tuition in art and design (all skill levels covered)
From 42 £ /h
My prime aim is to provide tuition that is designed specifically for you!
During the initial consultation we will establish your learning needs, identify your preferred learning style, and set a starting point. I will then compile a training plan with clearly defined SMART goals, session aims, timescale, and a proposed number of sessions.
Each session is one hour long; so you are in control of both pace and price.
Topics covered for structured courses will depend mostly on you and your needs, but typically may comprise any of the following:
- The elements of art
- The principles of art
- The creative process
- Recording and documenting research
- Art techniques
- Visual techniques
- Art history
- Movements and genres
- Influential artists (past and present)
- Application of the foundations of art
- Art medium
- Digital art
- Storyboarding
- Preparing and presenting finished work
Alternatively, topics can be formulated based on the initial needs analysis.
I can help provide extra tuition to students working towards GCSE, A-Level, and Higher Education courses in Art, Art and Design, and/or similar topics.
*If you're a student, my courses can be matched against specific curriculum models. You should first consult with your school/college to find out who the awarding body is for your exam, prior to starting ANY extra private tuition.
**I can also help around exam preparation, especially around coping strategies with exam-related anxiety and stress.

About Me
My career started in 1994 as an Apprentice studying I.T. and Graphic Design. Towards the end of my course the college recognized my potential and took me on as a junior technician - to begin with! Little did I know they had other plans for me!
After a short while I was (literally!) thrown in the deep end, being introduced to a group of 20 adults as their new tutor!
The room was hot, humid, and noisy with an OHP motoring away. I was 18 at the time and loved every minute of the opportunity!
After four years I moved on to pursue a career as a freelance web and graphic designer. From this point my career splintered, where I took on further employment in education teaching and training students, trainees, and apprentices, but I also remained active as a freelancer offering my services as a creative marketing executive.
More recently I set up two tech companies; one offering full-service marketing solutions to small businesses, and the other a Government approved Apprenticeship training provider.
I have led small teams, managed business finances, and at a time when colleges were spending thousands, if not millions on bid writers, I single handedly wrote tenders that led my business to being successfully entered on to TWO separate Government training registers.
Whilst working in education I have delivered training covering a comprehensive range of topics, from business admin and customer service, to leadership, management, and digital marketing. I have delivered to small and large groups, 1:1, online, and in-person.
Whilst running my tech companies I hosted and spoke at a number of business conferences, promoting the benefits of Apprenticeships to an audience comprising a mix of parents, young adults, business executives, and workers from local support agencies.
To date I have achieved a number of personal accolades and rewards for my work ethic and conduct. This includes - but not limited to:
- coming as a runner-up on a Youth Trainee of the Year award
- winning 'Assessor of the Year' for two consecutive years running
- and consistently achieving Ofsted Grade 1 for my training and delivery.
In my personal life I have been an avid painter, drawer, and artist since an early age. I studied art as a student at college and plan to fulfill my ambition of achieving a degree in art and design.
From September 2020 I will be working towards an A-Level in Psychology, as well as an 8-week MBCT course in Mindfulness, which will help me go on to complete a degree in Mindfulness at a later stage. My life-long ambition is to combine my interests in the Universe, mindful living, art and psychology to offer art as a form of therapy to those suffering with anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health issues.
I am also extremely spiritual. I have a strong sense of compassion and a deep belief in the Universe, its power, and our place in it. I have a daily practice of yoga, meditation, and energy alignment.

My prime aim is to provide non-judgmental tuition that is designed specifically for you, and from a place of safety, respect, and compassion.
During the initial free consultation, we will establish your learning needs, sources and triggers of stress and anxiety, and set a starting point. I will then compile a training plan with clearly defined SMART goals, session aims, timescale, and a proposed number of sessions.
Each session is one hour long; so you are in control of both pace and price. You are also in complete control of what you want to talk about and discuss.
What we cover together will largely depend on your personal needs, but essentially the areas we could look at and cover could include:
- Your sources and triggers of stress and anxiety
- Power of positive (and negative) thinking
- Coping strategies and techniques
- Past history, relationships, and experiences
- Traumas and childhood development
- Sibling rivalry.
We could factor in any of the following strategies and techniques into our tuition, where I can give you help on:
- Visualization
- Breathing
- Mindfulness
- Relaxation
- Meditation (guided and unguided)
- Art therapy
- Journaling.
Additionally, we can also incorporate lifestyle, diet, work/life balance, and other aspects of your life into the program, if you so wish.
Other practices and methods you may find helpful could include:
- Looking at yoga, pilates, and other fitness regimes
- Chakra realignment
- Energy realignment
- Frequency alignment
- Healing crystals and stones
- Gratitude diary
- Positive affirmations and reinforcement
- Mood boards
The techniques and methods I teach can be used by anyone of all ages and from any background. Maybe you are an individual who feels anxious about taking tests and exams, or someone feeling stressed and under pressure at work. Maybe you are a parent feeling like you cannot cope with juggling the many roles expected of you as a parent!
The point is that anyone and everyone suffers from some form of stress, anxiety, and even depression at some point in their lives. The trick is how we deal with that and not let it take control of our emotional states.
THAT is what we will try to cover together. You are not alone!
