About Me
Friendly and approachable define how I see myself. As a teacher I believe in the importance of raising the standards of language learning to give students an opportunity to create their own career paths carved by their ambitions. I completely abide by the rules of self-discipline and perseverance in achieving a well-defined aim. If learning English is a target, then as a teacher I endeavor to foster a growth mindset in my students not only to make them better learners but for them to reflect on past mistakes and in the process become resilient in the face of setbacks. I highly encourage learners to adopt a critical thinking perspective to get the best out of their lessons and to thrive outside the learning classroom. As an ESL teacher I am a strong advocate of experimenting with the English language via real-life situations. A reading task could well be a piece of literary work or a travel brochure. While a writing lesson could transform into a relevant and guided email writing task. My keen interest in teaching a language comes from my prior experience as a French language learner where I gained substantial insight in acquiring and testing ways of developing fluency. I believe that such an experience will indeed benefit my learners in the best way possible. Navigating the streams of possibilities to learn a new language nowadays most certainly entails taking wise decisions, defining a well-planned timetable, and above all conditioning oneself to meeting new challenges. My role as a teacher is to help students actively take their responsibilities in the learning process by considering the above. In other words, I would qualify myself more as a facilitator than a teacher in setting the right context for everyone to thrive as an autonomous learner but with optimal guidance and scaffolding.

A CELTA qualified teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience in the English language. I’m currently completing a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of Stirling, UK. I’ll prepare you for English proficiency exams (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, and Cambridge) with lots of practice and provide the material to develop the skills required to achieve the best grades. Classes are mainly based on situational learning where you’ll be presented with scenarios based on both your professional and your personal life. You’ll receive real-time feedback all throughout the lesson with emphasis on both grammar and vocabulary. The syllabus is a negotiated syllabus where you get to choose your own roadmap (what you want to work on). I guarantee online lessons that will support you in your learning. As a result, you will gain a lot from in-session training since the biggest portion of the lesson will be conducted during the live classes. Homework will also be given to monitor your progress. Above all, I believe that teaching is a pleasurable activity, so I highly emphasize the importance of rapport building and approachability with my students.
