About Me

Teaching is my second nature but at the same time, I just love technology and appreciate the fact that I can combine these two for a good cause. I am guided by the idea that language is not just a combination of rules and vocabulary, it is a unique communication tool in the first place. So, my goal is to enable my students to share their vision, knowledge and needs through English.

In my lessons I mostly use authentic materials and online educational platforms, I also draw and doodle to get things visual and memorable. So, don't get too surprised when you find yourself recording a video for your homework assignment.

I came to teaching 3.5 years ago after having worked as an interpreter at an oil&gas plant in the middle of nowhere and then as an educational consultant. I am well-educated, and I care about all the good and the bad that is happening in the world, so I will be happy to have curious and humane students to go through a language learning process together.

Education

I hold a BA degree in Philology (with distinction) and MA in Oriental Studies (with distinction) during which I travelled to Iran to learn Persian and observe teaching practices.
I am currently awaiting a 150-hours TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate from Arizona State University, USA.

Experience / Qualifications

My experience with English started in 2011 after I got my Master's Degree. I worked as an interpreter at TengizChevroil Oil and Gas plant. I did sequential verbal translations on-site and on meetings and written translations of formal and informal correspondence.

For me personally, doing translations lacked creativity and freedom, so in 2 years I decided to move back to city life and helped students to apply to universities abroad.

In 2017-18, while living in London, I co-founded an online shop for sustainable clothes which unfortunately has to be closed due to my further travels. At Beyneu I was in charge of creating engaging posts on Instagram to increase brand visibility and brand awareness.

Since then I have taught online and have had students of all ages (5+) from the USA, UK, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, UAE and Indonesia. I hope to have some good experience on Apprentus as well. Welcome to my classes!
