My teaching experience

My teaching career began in 2012, after completing my CELTA at the British Council in Krakow, Poland. I spent the next seven years living in various locations in Poland, working for prestigious schools with students of all levels.

I have experience with a wide range of students, from three years old to adulthood, both in person and online. In addition to general English, I have also taught Cambridge exam preparation courses and business English courses.

In 2021, I started my own online teaching business, specializing in helping students from B1 to C2 levels develop their English communication skills through specialized coaching and fluency courses. In addition to creating fluency courses, I have also written several ebooks focused on advanced vocabulary and fluency development.

I recently created a community-based online membership program for international mothers living in the UK who need to learn English for everyday life. At the same time, I continue to help advanced English students achieve their fluency goals through online classes.

About Me

I have experience with a vast number of students raging from age three to adult, both in school and online. Over the thirteen years that I have been teaching, I have worked with groups of between three and twenty students, and also individually with students on a one-to-one basis. I have conducted general and business English classes, as well as Cambridge exam preparation classes.

My preference is working individually with students, as I like the personal approach to learning that this enables.

All English learners have special qualities, but I especially like working with those that are intermediate level or above. Quite often, students at this level feel stuck, like they are not making as much progress as before, and I like to help them overcome this. With the right approach, a higher level student can become a confident and expressive communicator in English, whilst removing any speaking barriers that have formed over time.

I especially enjoy the complex discussion topics that often come up during lessons, and the opportunity to hear a variety of different opinions, from different cultural perspectives. It is always great to be a part of helping students express these opinions clearly and confidently in English.

I would describe myself as an unconfident language leaner because I am always reluctant to speak. However as a teacher, I recognise the importance and necessity of speaking so this is of course something I work on!

Due to my own struggles though, I am always mindful that my students may well be feeling the same, so there will never be any pressure during my lessons.
