I Understand! is a series of lessons I have developed that are aimed at increasing your confidence, fluency, and command of the English language.

During the lesson, we'll look at a topical news item, usually connected to British culture. You'll get the opportunity to listen, read (aloud), and discuss the subject in detail, all the time developing your comprehension, vocabulary, and understanding of written and spoken English.

My lessons are relaxed and enjoyable, I firmly believe learning should be fun!

Hello! I'm John

I'm originally from London, UK but now in France. I've been teaching English as a second language online for some time now and really enjoy helping others on their English language journey. As a native English speaker, I can guide you through all the grammatical complexities and rules but also share with you how English is really spoken 'at home'. I know from my own experience of learning a second language that it can be a bit challenging at times, but that's where I come in.

Conversational Spanish is a very important part of the learning as it is the natural way to learn it. My classes are designed to help students to learn in a natural way by choosing a topic and dealing with that topic from all angles: grammar, speaking, listening and translating. That helps students to gradually absorb what they are studying. I usually conduct a relaxing lesson where students feel they can improve and learn at their own pace.
Even if you are an absolute beginner you will be able to speak some Spanish by the end of the first lesson.

A brief note: Since lessons are online, it is best to use a lapto/computer rather than a phone to enjoy the full experience.
