I’m a university student in the UK looking to share my knowledge of music to help saxophonist improve their confidence by bettering their sound and playing ability.

I’m very student focused and will work with you however best suits. I’ll listen to what you hope to learn and gain through lessons and ensure you have a good time learning a fantastic instrument.

Education

Studying History at the University of York. I studied music at high school for 6 years and completed my Grade 8 saxophone at the age of 12. I’ve learnt from masterclasses since.

I’ve played the saxophone for over 10 years, with experience in solo performance, big bands and orchestras.

I can help you with busking tips, or technical help if you’d like to create a “saxophone choir” video. I’ve learnt from top saxophonists from across the world and would love to share their insight.

My methodology: Learning to structure one's thoughts to express oneself better
My approach is based on a simple observation: success is not achieved through lack of effort, but often through a lack of method and confidence. My role is to transform subjects sometimes perceived as abstract (Philosophy, French) or intimidating (English) into concrete tools for success.

The typical course of a session:
1. Quick diagnosis: We start by identifying the areas of uncertainty from the previous lesson or the difficulties with a specific exercise.
2. Taking action: No boring lectures! We work on concrete exercises, essay plans or oral practice (in English) to "learn by doing".
3. The "Montreal Method": Having worked for two and a half years in Quebec, I use a North American pedagogy that is very focused on encouragement, clear structure and student autonomy.
4. Summary & Objectives: We end each session with a recap of the key points so that the student knows exactly what to revise.
