About Me

Hi my name is Mariam🙋🏻‍♀️

I am a qualified TEFL teacher offering english lessons online and in person. I am a native speaker born and raised in London with lots of experience teaching english as a foreign language across all ages.

Having a multilingual background of more than 3 languages, I am aware of all the difficulties that a foreign student of english may face when learning english as an additional language.

I would be happy to tailor the lessons to the pace and needs of the student, making the lessons a fun and comfortable environment for learning english as well as focusing on improving all the sets of skills needed to master the English language, from speaking, reading, writing, listening and understanding skills.

As a British national, I have lived and studied my whole life in London, obtaining my A level qualifications from Westminster in the heart of London in Philosophy, Politics, English and French. I am now going on to study at university in denmark as well as learning Danish.

This class is for students who want to refine their English pronunciation, either for examination preparation or for job interviews. My goal is to give students the confidence to speak English fluently and accurately. I am an experienced teacher and linguist, and I encourage students to develop their speaking skills for academic, social and career advancement. Online classes are structured, with regular homework. Typical math courses for example:

- I start the lesson by asking the student questions to identify his main difficulties and I answer any questions he may have.

- I then suggest several standard exercises to him to then make a method sheet and identify precisely what are the steps to follow when faced with this or that type of exercise.

- Finally, I offer him more complex exercises so that he learns to cultivate his intuition in the face of a mathematical exercise.

Of course, this is only a typical process, I adapt to the needs and wishes of the student, a course is above all a dialogue. The main thing is that the student feels as comfortable as possible to ask all the questions that come to him and gain confidence!
