About Me

I’m a patient and supportive teacher who enjoys creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident speaking and expressing themselves.

I like bringing my students’ interests into the lessons and making classes feel natural, engaging, and personalized. I believe grammar is an important part of language learning, but it becomes much more meaningful when students can actively use the language to communicate, share ideas, and express themselves.

I hold undergraduate degrees in Portuguese, Spanish, and Latin Languages and Literature.

I also have a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Portuguese Language, with a focus on language teaching and learning, and I am currently finishing my PhD in the same field, with research focused on phonetics and pronunciation.

I work mainly with Portuguese and Spanish language teaching, and I also have experience teaching students from different linguistic backgrounds, including English- and Mandarin-speaking learners.

I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels, both in private lessons and academic contexts. I also have university teaching experience, including classes at Universidad de Manizales (Colombia) and Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil).

Besides general language courses, I teach academic Portuguese and academic Spanish, as well as preparation courses for official proficiency exams (CELPE-Bras, DELE, SIELE).

I have also worked with the development of Portuguese teaching materials and have a published Portuguese textbook.

Learning with dyslexia, ADHD, or any other learning difficulty can be frustrating. Especially when you are expected to study in the same way as everyone else, despite your brain just working differently. I know this from personal experience.

I am a law student with dyslexia and ADHD, and over the years I have developed practical strategies that have helped me study, stay organised, and succeed academically. I now want to share those tools with children, teenagers and adults who may be facing similar challenges.
