I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, journalist, and legal/policy expert from Florida specializing in instruction, interview and exam prep, consulting and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium including in the legal, academic, policy, and other fields. My past & present clients have included: professionals and politicians from all four major EU institutions, the Belgian government, the UNHCR, and various NGOs, alongside diplomats, doctors, journalists, and engineers, as well as a variety of other professions in addition to traditional students..I have had over 50+ repeat students on Apprentus (which recently changed their algorithm to only display the last six months). Approaching from a true native's perspective, I instruct and assist with both educational and business English in a multi-faceted nature covering a wide range of areas including comprehension, conversation, grammar, and situational skills, in addition to working on general language skills and accent training. As well, I can provide extensive help and training with the EPSO, IELTS, and TOEFL exams. I have also written, edited or proofread a variety of academic papers, theses, applications, CVs, and other documents for numerous satisfied academic and professional clients. I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. Additionally, I also possess Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics. I am a student who has not yet graduated in Classics, but I have a linguistic diploma (English, French, Spanish and Italian) and a DELF B2 certificate. I give lessons to convey the input of knowledge through deep study, but not mentally heavy. I would like to help students who have difficulties and who feel disadvantaged when it comes to school subjects. I would like to motivate the student to give the maximum with the "minimum" effort and above all to make people understand how important culture is nowadays. I would like to give my study method to those who are confused about the approach to language study and not only. I must admit, for a math teacher, I had terrible grades in school. I always thought I wasn't cut out for a scientific career. When I decided to become an engineer, I had to start from zero and learn everything by myself. At first, I would have been incapable of passing an eight grade math test. Months of hard self-taught work led me to develop a study method focused on deep understanding of a subject rather than mere information retention. Through this project of becoming a private tutor, I hope to become the person I needed most a few years ago. I have facilitated workshops and given classes throughout my career all over the world. English pronunciation is essential these days because English is spoken everywhere and all the time. I followed specialized training such as the verb tonal method, Feldenkrais or mental coaching. We are therefore going to work in a slightly different way by combining articulatory techniques, movement, rhythm, intonation, warming up of the jaw and tongue, stretching of the neck, neck and shoulders to arrive to very fast results.

Having also worked for several years as a school substitute, I have accumulated experience and am familiar with the requirements required in class.
