About Me
Jambo! I’m Linet, a native Swahili speaker and tutor from Kenya. I help students of all levels learn Swahili in a clear, practical, and confidence-building way. Whether you’re starting from zero, preparing for travel, working with East African partners, or connecting with family and culture, I’ll guide you step by step.
My lessons focus on speaking from day one. I keep things practical, patient, and tailored to your goals. We use real-life conversations, role-play, and simple grammar explanations so you can use Swahili immediately, not just memorize rules. In the first few weeks you’ll learn to introduce yourself, ask questions, order food, give directions, and hold basic conversations with confidence. Mistakes are part of learning, so I create a relaxed space where you can practice without fear.
Here’s what we’ll cover: greetings and introductions, numbers and time, everyday vocabulary, sentence building, pronunciation, and listening skills. I also include cultural context so you understand how Swahili is used in daily life across Kenya and East Africa. Lessons are adjusted for complete beginners, intermediate students who want to improve fluency, and learners preparing for travel or work.
Classes are 1-on-1 via video call and run at your pace. I use slides, vocabulary lists, short exercises, and dialogue practice to keep lessons active and engaging. After each lesson I send notes and key phrases so you can review on your own. Homework is optional, but it helps you progress faster if you have time.
I’m friendly, patient, and passionate about making Swahili simple and useful. My goal is for you to feel comfortable speaking Swahili in real situations, not just in class.
Book a lesson with me and let’s start your Swahili journey together. Karibu!
