Presentation Title: Exploring the French Horn: A Lesson Course for Passionate Musicians

Internationally active composer and music theorist (M.Mus) currently accepting students for the following subjects (online sessions): -Music theory (basic to college level), including harmony, counterpoint, analysis -Western music history (medieval to contemporary), music appreciation -Composition, music notation (software + score preparation), electronic music, university application portfolio feedback and general application advising -English (for academic writing)

In this course I teach you to become familiar with the scores of the Gregorian Chant and its Vatican notation, which works in tetragram instead of staff, and does not have the conventional rhythmic figures. We will learn the Gregorian symbols and ways, while also awakening the voice and gaining notions of Latin, history and liturgy.

My teaching method is scrupulously adapted to each student I have, regardless of the subject to work on (musical language, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.) I always apply the Belgian teaching model, where I trained with my master's degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). According to this model, the main thing is a living and practical teaching, taking understanding and not memory as the main learning engine.

He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

I offer online /webcam violin classes for kids, teenagers, and adults of any level. You can choose between modern and baroque violin. I provide you with the scores and necessary materials for the study process! Twice a year I organize workshops in Rome (Italy) to meet you in person and study directly! You are most welcome to participate in these workshops. If there are more students in one country I can travel to your place and teach for a weekend workshop (a few times a year) for the group of students at the same location. Once a year we organize a summer school in warm and beautiful Italy (Rome and surroundings) to study with you: violin solo program, chamber music, and Ear Training. The course is aimed at any aspiring learner of modern piano, jazz, blues and whoever wants to take their first steps in the world of modern music. The classes go through a deep study of improvisation, composition and free creation through the keyboard, sheet music reading, ear tuning, musical theory and harmony, notions of the history of western and African-American music, depending on the route. , level and wishes of the student.

Music theory and musical culture are essential tools for understanding and making music. Music theory, because it allows you to master the technical tools that allow you to make music, is fundamental for anyone who wants to progress in their instrument. Musical culture makes it possible to understand what goes on in music beyond the technique. I'm a music teacher with a degree in music education from the Universidade Metropolitana de Santos (São Paulo/Brazil), a degree in Classical Guitar from the Conservatório de Tatuí (SP/Brazil) and a specialization in historical instruments from the Escola de Música do Estado de São Paulo (Brazil) I was music teacher during 3 years at Barueri City Council (São Paulo/Brazil) before I started a master's degree in Renaissance Lute at ESMAE (Porto). I have some Classical and acoustic guitar students and I also teach music in Porto's Council preschools. The lessons will be planned according to the student's interests, and I will provide study material with theoretical and practical exercises. The student will have the opportunity to meet know other instruments and different approaches to musical practice and technique, improving the ability to interpret and create music.
