As a freelance musician, I provide high quality tuition in ABRSM Music Theory Grade 1-5 examinations. This class is designed around the student and starts preparation through the graded exam syllabus. As Grade 5 Music Theory is a compulsory examination for all ABRSM performance examinations past Grade 6, it is important that students start early and work alongside their instrumental studies.

I can also assist with pre University/Conservatoire Music Theory studies (Grade 6-8).

My goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed, and I assign homework and practice questions at the end of every session.

I am DBS checked, and previous practical opportunities and experiences have also enabled me to have a greater knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures in the work place.
Extra information
Will need to purchase all ABRSM Grade 1-5 Music Theory practice books and Music Theory is Fun books 1-5 (by Maureen Cox) for this course. As lessons are currently online, access to a working webcam and microphone via a computer/tablet/phone is essential. In addition, you will need to be able to send over scans/pictures of homework each week.

My teaching style is practical, personalized and encouraging. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, musical interests and learning pace.

For beginners, I focus on the essential technique and fundamentals while introducing simple complete songs as early as possible. For intermediate players, I can work on repertoire, accompaniment, rhythm, musical interpretation, technique and theory.

I teach a wide variety of music, including Italian folk and dance music, tango, Latin music, contemporary songs, soundtracks, French musette and European and American folk repertoire.

I believe that lessons should be enjoyable as well as productive. Rather than following exactly the same path with every student, I build the program around the person in front of me. This approach is particularly useful for adult students who want to learn the accordion for their own enjoyment, return to music after many years, or develop a personal repertoire.

About me

I help students start playing real music early—often within the first few lessons.

I’m a professional pianist with 12+ years of teaching experience and over 7 years of international performing (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain, and worldwide on luxury cruise ships).

Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning after a break, I tailor each lesson to your goals so you can progress efficiently and enjoy the process.

I started piano at age 6 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance. I’ve also taken part in many masterclasses and studied with outstanding pianists. My background includes classical, jazz, blues, pop, rock, and chord-based playing.

I’m passionate about teaching and focused on helping you reach your goals in a clear, supportive, and enjoyable way.

About the Lesson

I am a patient and dedicated piano teacher, working with students of all ages and levels. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, learning style, and musical interests.

I teach a wide range of styles, from classical to modern music (jazz, blues, pop, etc.).

I can teach you reading sheet music or playing by ear, depending on your preference and goals. I can also help you improvise and create your own music in the styles you enjoy.

I also have strong experience working with students with ADHD and dyslexia, adapting lessons to make learning clear, structured, and engaging.

I focus on healthy technique, musicality, and effective practice habits to build confidence and avoid tension or injury. I also help students develop a technique that prevents common issues such as tendonitis, which is very important for long-term playing. You’ll also receive support outside lessons, including answers, feedback, and video explanations when needed.

I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1–8 and Diplomas), but I also teach students who simply want to enjoy playing. My students range from age 3 to 75+, and all make meaningful progress.

Online lessons are just as effective as in-person ones. I use a professional multi-camera setup and high-quality audio so you can clearly see technique and movement. Most of my lessons (95%+) are taught online.

Curriculum

There is no single method that fits everyone, so I adapt all materials to you.

For beginners, I often use Alfred’s Basic Piano Library. For classical and jazz development, I work with ABRSM and Trinity syllabi. I’m always happy to use other methods if you prefer.

Alongside structured materials, I include music you enjoy and focus on essential skills that apply across all styles—from classical to modern music.

REVIEWS from students:

(5/5) Pascale from France | In-Person Lessons

Gabriel teaches piano to our son and daughter more than 1 year now. He is clear in his indications, friendly and he really put his heart in what he's doing . He highly recommend him ! (5/5) . Marinela from Romania | Online Lessons

Gabriel’s teaching style is really impressive, the flow and the content of every lessons are very good and he has 4 CAMERAS that shows his face, keyboard and his view on a sideways so any student can visualize the proper posture and a clear view of the movement of his arms and fingers as he teach. My daughter is only 7 years old and as you can imagine asking her to sit for 1 hour to learn piano is quite a challenge but Gabriel handles it pretty well, and he is understanding of my child’s playfulness during the class and he knows also when to remind her to focus. Gabriel has an impressive amount of patience and knowledge about piano that’s why my daughter Ameco is enjoying and learning so much from him. I’m very happy we found him. And he’s quite flexible on the changes of schedule just give him a heads-up and he’ll cancel or change the schedule. Looking forward to more piano classes with him. I'm an architecture student and an 8th year long piano practiser. I begun taking piano lessons with Gabriel to brush up my skills and and to better understand music before pursuing a graduate degree into a French conservatory. Since the very first piano class with Gabriel, I became very enthusiastic about practicing and due to his patience and clarity to explain musical phrases, theory and interpretation rules, I started to feel and to understand better what I was playing. I warmly recommend Gabriel as a piano tutor to everyone willing to enrich his piano practice! Are you in love with the sound of the cello but have never dared to start playing it?
Have you been playing the cello as an amateur and now need an expert to guide you?
Do you want to develop and improve your cello and musical skills?
Do you need reinforcement lessons?
Would you like to prepare for entrance exams to the conservatory?
Would you love to join a youth orchestra and need help preparing for the auditions?
...
These are the private cello lessons you were looking for!

My name is Miriam, I am a graduate in Master of Classical Music at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent.
I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher.

As an experienced music theory tutor and professional pianist, I use a curriculum established by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the UK to guide students from grades 1-8 (beginning up to early-advanced levels) towards mastery of music theory. We can start from the beginning and work your way up, or find a suitable level based on prior knowledge. My students regularly achieve highest marks in the ABRSM exams following this system. However, if exams are not your goal, and you would simply like a deeper level of theoretical understanding of your music pieces, we apply the insights gained from this course directly to the pieces you are studying without a lot of stress.

Course components include:

Notation and solfège
Rhythm
Meter
Scales + Arpeggios
Intervals
Chords
Cadences
Harmonic Function
Form and Analysis

My background in music theory derives from my professional musical training in the USA where I followed advanced honors-level music theory, ear-training, musical analysis, and orchestral conducting courses in addition to my regular piano performance studies. The insights provided from these analytical courses have proved immensely beneficial to my own life as a pianist. This knowledge not only speeds up the learning process for a musical piece, but also increases confidence in performance by enhancing memorization skills and providing a higher level of awareness of the components which drive musical phrasing and expression. A knowledge of music theory is therefore a crucial element for proficiency of any instrument and a huge aid to any serious music student.

Each student is different, so I therefore create an individual curriculum for each one, allowing them to learn at their own pace while playing music they enjoy!

His international experience as a pianist brings to his teaching methods a lot of patience and adaptability. During the classes, he is able to adjust our lessons to the level of instruction to meet our goals, and this, always by providing a positive and inspiring environment! I highly trust Gabriel's teaching process! (5/5) Maria from Romania | In-Person Lessons
