I work with middle school, high school, and college students who need help with coursework, exams, essays, presentations, or simply understanding challenging historical and political concepts. Lessons are tailored to the student's curriculum, level, learning style, and goals.

Rather than focusing only on memorizing names and dates, I help students understand the bigger picture: Why did events happen? What were their consequences? How are political, economic, cultural, and technological developments connected? And how does history help us understand the world today?

Topics can include U.S. history, world history, European and Asian history, U.S. government and the Constitution, civics, comparative government, international affairs, and related social studies subjects.

Before transitioning into education, I spent 16 years as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, living and working in Asia, Africa, and Washington, D.C. I have also taught in the United States and abroad, served as a graduate teaching assistant at American University, and taught undergraduate students at the University of Maryland. I am currently completing Virginia's EducateVA Career Switcher Program as I transition into education.

My goal is not simply to help students improve their grades, but to help them become more confident learners who can analyze evidence, recognize connections, and explain historical and political ideas clearly.
