Hello! My name is Astrid and I am currently a Master 2 student in Dauphine studying Quantitative Economic Analysis. I have experience teaching Basic Econometrics and Microeconometrics to Masters students who struggle with the basics. Also, I have experience teaching Economics to high-school students and love to transmit my passion of the subject to them!

I like to adapt my teaching style to that of the given student, to ensure that he/she feels the most comfortable during the class, so that in turn, he/she will get the most out of it! I am always happy to hear the student's feedback as to work better together and enhance the learning experience :)

About Me
My name is Astrid, 23, and I am Venezuelan. I am enthusiastic, responsible, very empathetic and open-minded. I have grown up outside of my country since I left at age 8, which indeed has exposed me to various environments and allowed me to be raised among a diverse set of friends from different nations, cultures and religions. With that, my background has made me a big people person, which I believe has shaped my teaching methods; I like to connect with the students as to find the best possible teaching strategy so they may feel at ease whilst they're getting taught, and in turn, enhance their learning experience and make the best use out of their time in class!
Education
Master 2 in Quantitative Economic Analysis in Paris Dauphine (ongoing).
Master 1 in Economic Development and Growth at Carlos III University in Madrid (2018-2019).

Hello! My name is Astrid and I am currently a Master 2 student in Dauphine studying Quantitative Economic Analysis. I am Venezuelan but have grown up in a variety of countries in Asia and Europe, which has given me the privilege to speak English at a native speaker level.

I have experience giving classes to teenagers in English. Microeconomics:
This course revolves around these notions:
- CONSUMER CHOICE THEORY: marginal utility, indifference curve
- THE CONSUMER'S BALANCE: budget constraint
- THE THEORY OF DEMAND: substitution and income effect, elasticity
My courses are aimed at students from business and management schools who have difficulty in the following subjects:
- Microeconomics
- Macroeconomics
- Statistics
- Probabilities
- Financial analysis
- Accounting
- Taxation
Macroeconomics:
The objective of the course is to present the fundamental concepts of macroeconomics in order to lay the foundations for understanding economic phenomena on the one hand, and on the other hand helping to make a judgment in order to evaluate economic policy recommendations. In summary, the macroeconomist pursues four major objectives:
1. the determination of the aggregates making it possible to explain the behavior of the groups of agent: it is the object of the
macroeconomic accounting;
2. the study of the relationships between these variables in order to determine the existence of stable relationships over time: this is the subject of macroeconomic laws;
3. analysis of the main imbalances that may appear between the aggregates: price increase, unemployment, deficit in public finances, deficit in the trade balance with foreign countries: this is the subject of macroeconomic modelling;
4. the study of the means to correct these imbalances and to achieve certain set goals (price stability, full employment, external balance, etc.): this is the object of economic policy.

Former student at Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. I have a Master's degree in applied economics and political economy. I have been teaching economics, mathematics, English and geopolitical history since 2019. I have had the opportunity to work with more than 70 students, ranging from 11 to 20 years old. I have prepared a large number of high school graduates for the SES and HGGSP specialties as well as for the grand oral. Whether in continuous monitoring during the year or in intensive training during the holidays, I organize the course in such a way as to work on my students' weak points.

Finally, during this year I taught mathematics during group courses for the preparation of the brevet. Concerning languages: I am bilingual in English but I also have a current level in Spanish and an intermediate level in Japanese. I am able to teach economics and geopolitical history in English for students preparing for the baccalaureate in another language.
Preferably I accompany students from middle school to BAC +2 on a regular basis in order to help them progress. I am also available for videoconference courses and intensive courses during the holidays.

Methodology :

The first lesson is crucial in order to determine the student's strengths and weaknesses. Once the assessment is done, I look for the best method to help them progress. Between lessons, I often leave additional work to consolidate the concepts seen in class and to evaluate progress. As soon as I feel that they are ready, I try to put them in exam conditions so that they can prepare for academic deadlines. The goal is to confront them with very demanding subjects early enough so that they acquire rigor and method. I initially focus on methodology issues. Once students are more comfortable with the form of the assignments, I insist on the quality of writing, syntax and understanding of the course. For students looking to improve, I offer them very demanding assignments and I try to push the course to a higher level so that they can have a better understanding of the concepts they are studying.
